A HERO COMES HOME
After 83 years, Lt. j.g. Thomas A. Ruth is coming home.
The remains of Ruth, who was killed in action on June 30, 1943, while fighting over the South Pacific during World War II, will be flown into Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport today (Friday), at which point a dignified transfer will take place and will be brought to Jackson.
A graveside service with full military honors will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Riverside Cemetery in Jackson.
