From our CEO

I grew up raised by a single mother with my older brother and sister. My mother went to work everyday working in a kitchen at either Camp Shelby or University of Southern Miss and often working overtime to make sure we had what we needed. Unfortunately like many others her hard work and dedication wasn’t matched with a livable wage. Again like many others mothers/fathers she used the “system” as a way to get ahead and eventually was able to get off. That was/is not the case for many others.

It doesn’t matter what side of the argument you stand on, but what we should all agree on is that no one especially children should worry where their next meal will come from. I personally can not stand by and see anyone go hungry. In my profession I recognize that poverty is often the foundation to crime. A child deserves to wake up and be a kid not be forced to focus on survival.

With that being said my company is pledging to help. I understand that we will not be able to help everyone but I will help as many families as possible. Starting with my own employees/staff by ensuring that feeding their families is the least of their concerns. Until SNAP and other benefit programs are restored fully, I will forfiet my salary and use profits to help others instead of my personal wants. We may not be able to fulfill all your needs but we can make it a little easier on you.

Austin Security & Crime Prevention Consulting LLC has been retained by The Mint Julep Patio to evaluate safety and develop a strategic security plan. Although we will not be providing on site physical security, we will be consulting with ownership/management on a reputable security firm to hire. It is our goal to build onto and promote a safe atmosphere for patrons to continue enjoying the relaxed patio experience. What you can expect moving forward once evaluations have been completed is an increased security presence inside and in parking areas, security protocols, lighting and security camera upgrades, emergency evacuation plans and professionalism.

I want to commend Myron Lott for taking the appropriate steps to ensure that his customers safety is top property.
