Our team here at LIS is so honored to be a part of sponsoring a vital effort here in Northeast Florida to increase the number of women in board seats and C-suite positions.

Powerhouse Angela Timberlake, President of Elevate Women Jax, leads this effort and spoke, setting the stage for the 2024 program.

Together with her and 70+ others attending in support of the effort, we’ll be increasing the leadership pipeline here locally, and our CEO Leila Ansart will serve on Elevate Women's Advisory Board.

Diverse leadership in business, which when combined with those leaders rejecting the notion that maximizing shareholder returns is highest priority, and instead broadening their vision of success- namely: equity, human dignity, increased learning, innovation, creativity, flexibility, and increased workplace trust in their companies, can be the building blocks on which real change is built.

Changing the leadership landscape can seem like a huge impossible job, but the size of the problem will not damper my commitment. EVERY leader can make a difference by pushing this vision forward and choosing behaviors that impact those around us in our own circles.

Last week we spoke to the students at Taylor Leadership Institute at University of North Florida delivering two lectures about adaptable and emotionally intelligent communication skills.

We explored the art of effective communication, dissecting various styles, their strengths, and the crucial ability to pivot when your go-to approach isn't hitting the mark.

The result? A staggering 97.5% of attendees reported boosted confidence and skills to apply these newfound communication skills in their personal and professional lives.

💼 Imagine learning and practicing the power of effective communication while still in school - we may be biased, but I would have loved this. 🙌🗣️ Plus we get to invest in my local community and their future through these students. Win-win.
