A friendly reminder as the weather warms up: According to Jacksonville Municipal Code, all solicitors operating within Jacksonville city limits must have a permit issued by the City of Jacksonville Public Works Department and display a visible ID badge with their name and company name at all times.
According to Municipal Code 5.16.030, solicitor permits issued through Public Works require applicants to provide:
✔ Proof of identification and address
✔ Description of the business or activity
✔ Solicitation locations and operating hours
✔ Employer or company information, if applicable
✔ Disclosure of certain criminal or ordinance violations
✔ Proof of any required licenses or permits
✔ A photograph maintained by the Public Works Department
⏰ All solicitations, sales and activity must occur between 9:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
❗ NOTE: Exceptions will be made for those soliciting on behalf of a local charitable, educational, political or religious entity or event, per Municipal Code 5.16.020.
📞 If a solicitor in your neighborhood is unable to provide a valid permit while operating in city limits, please contact the Jacksonville Police Department's non-emergency phone number at (501) 985-2802.
