Some people leave a mark on a community that can never be replaced. ๐๐ค
Today, we had the honor of creating a sign for the funeral procession of a truly remarkable man โ Jacksonvilleโs longest-standing police officer and a beloved crossing guard for Northwoods Elementary School
For decades, he served and protected our community, but to the children of Northwoods, he was so much more. He was a familiar face, a friendly smile, and someone they could count on to help them safely cross the road each day.
There was something especially meaningful about his procession passing by Northwoods today, on the very first day of school. As the students began a new school year, they were able to say one final goodbye to the man who had helped so many of them safely start their school days over the years. In a beautiful way, it felt like he was there one last time, seeing his students off.
It was an honor to help Jacksonville come together to pay tribute to a man who dedicated so much of his life to serving others.
Thank you Lt. XY Brown for your service, your dedication, and the countless lives you touched. Your presence in our community will be deeply missed, but your legacy will live on in the people you served and the children you watched over. ๐บ๐ธ๐
