Rotary Club of Empowering Our Girls

Rotary Club of Empowering Our Girls We are a global e-Rotary Club our mission is to uplift and support girls and women in our community and beyond.

Through our diverse range of initiatives, we are dedicated to providing resources, support, and hope to those who need it most. Here’s how we make a difference:

Dignity Bags: We distribute dignity bags to school-aged girls containing emergency period products. These bags ensure that girls can attend school with confidence and without interruption. Fighting Period Poverty: We work with community l

eaders, educational providers and health professionals to provide long-term solutions to girls who cannot afford access to period products. Free Little Libraries: We support two Free Little Libraries in Jacksonville, NC. These libraries offer access to books and educational resources, fostering a love of reading and providing valuable learning materials. Leadership Programs: We sponsor students for leadership programs through Rotary, equipping them with the skills and confidence needed to become future leaders in their communities. Polio Eradication: Our efforts also contribute to the global fight against polio, working towards a world where this disease is no longer a threat to children.

Polio isn't an issue that we've seen in the US for a long time, but it's still active in places throughout the world.

💧Through the work of Rotary and many others, this preventable disease has almost been eliminated.

If you want to learn more, there is an interview linked in the story.

When Rotary first dreamed of a polio-free world, we knew we couldn't do it alone. Thanks to Rotary members and our partners in the Global Polio Eradication Initiative (GPEI), over 3 billion children have been immunized since 1998.

Happy New Year!!!

Big Thank you to Janene W Markuske who led us through this last year. We've loved getting to know each other more through the question of the day and learned some really interesting things from our speakers, that ranged on topics from human trafficking, to local libraries and saving trees. Your leadership has been appreciated and we are so thankful to you for stepping up as president this last year.

Christine Garde Denning - Congratulations! The race starts now, we've got a year to support you and the exciting things you want to achieve. We can't wait to get started and see what we can do this next year!

Thank you to everyone who came out and helped make the blood drive such a success! ❤️

Because of the donations collected, more than 70 people will have access to lifesaving treatments and care. That’s an incredible impact created in just a few short hours.

For donors, it only took about 30 minutes, a little generosity, and maybe a few tasty snacks afterward, but the difference made for patients and families is immeasurable.

We loved partnering with the Red Cross, Kiwanis Club of Onslow County and Onslow Community Outreach, to bring this opportunity to the Jacksonville community. Thank you to every donor, volunteer, and supporter who made a difference!

Unfortunately, we didn't get more pictures, but here are a few of our club members that volunteered their time!

Join us at 6pm EDT today for a presentation from Donna Disbrow with !

Lasagna Love is a global nonprofit movement powered by volunteers who provide homemade lasagna to neighbors in need with no questions asked, no qualifications required, and no judgment attached. They strive to normalize asking for help. What began as one Facebook post during the pandemic has grown into a grassroots movement serving families across the United States, Canada, Australia, and the U.K.

Quite simply, Lasagna Love reminds families they are seen, supported, and not alone. In the words of one of their volunteers, “be kinder than necessary because everyone is fighting some kind of battle.”

We can't wait to hear about this organization and to have you join us! Guests and visiting Rotarians are welcome.
