YES BEWARE OF STRANGERS AND TROJAN HORSE CALLERS.
Hello Friends in doing fraud research for Praetorian I came across this video an thought that the process description and professionalism was well worth placing the video here in full.

Rather than researching and collecting other tactile data points and having to create such content on my own as is my normal procedure, I decide to post this video instead to quickly get this information out there.

Now keep in mind that this video covers a very specific encounter environment, which is very different than emergency situations where a stranger or hospital may call you.

Such situations as an emergency are so dynamic and bare varying nuances that I would caution using the protocols from this video as sole measures for dealing with emergency phone communications.

What is my quick hot take on this situation:
1) My safe guards is to always put a name on all phone numbers that I save on my phone.

This way I can avoid or have greater control and scrutiny over unnamed text and phone calls.

2) My default protocal is to utilize voice-mail as my conduit to interacting with unnamed phone numbers.

3) But what if a friend or family member is in an emergency and is using a strangers phone?

My response to this is that for these potential cases you could have a code or pass word that can be placed in the text, that would authenticate the csller as someone you know, or can trust.

4) The other measure is to inform friends and family to always in an emergency to simply leave a detailed text, that explains the situation and identifies them, when on a strangers phone. Then leave a voice mail as a redundant confirmation.

Now this video deals with stranger phone numbers.

The situation and strategies for dealing with a legitimately known phone number that has been hacked, is a whole other process that we can cover in greater detail on a separate post.

As always I pray you be safe
PRAETORIAN peace.

A PRAETORIAN IC, TRAVEL SECURITY TIP:
PROTECT YOUR ROOM #

You may have had this happen to you. You are on vacation or business, you check into your hotel and the desk Clark hands you the room key while announcing the room number for all to hear.

Wow...

Well many desk clerks are experienced and well trained to avoid this, but there are those who are less experienced or just busy. So you need to be aware and proactive.

Women traveling alone especially need to be more vigilante.

Thiefs and bad guys are opportunist, and they prey on the weak or those too preoccupied.

If you think your room number has been compromised while at check in, then explain your concerns to the desk and seek a different room.

You don't want to be unduly paranoid, but at the same time if it appears like someone is taking an interest in where your room is, or that the desk spoke your room number in a way that it could be heard in the entire lobby full of people. Well a little caution can go a long way.

Yes of course I know that a criminal could follow you to find out where you room is, to this I say fine make them work for it. You have a better chance of knowing you are followed, than someone who knows your room already.

Well that is our quick tip for today.

More tips are coming as well as our deep, detailed blog post on personal, family, business and travel security.
