Position Responsibilities Summary Under the direction of the Custom & Hardwood Supervisor, the Hardwood Finisher is primarily responsible for the preparation and finishing of various components. The Hardwood Finisher works with numerous material types including lumber, veneers, etc. In most scenarios, the Hardwood Finisher will be responsible for the fabrication and finishing portion of components using raw hardwood and processing it through a series of sawing, gluing, sanding, and staining operations to create a variety of millwork related products. Day to day tasks will be set forth by the Custom & Hardwood Supervisor to meet and exceed production goals while maintaining a high-quality product.
• Read blueprints, shop drawings, or written instructions to determine the method and sequence of assembling parts.
• Have a basic understanding of various wood species and types of stains and finishes.
• Measure, shape, adjust, trim and sand parts and joints to make parts fit snugly.
• Apply stains or paints on wood as dictated by established work instructions or supervision guidance.
• Operate and perform preventative maintenance on basic power tools.
• Produce work of high quality while self-inspecting quality of work.
• Read and interpret written work instructions, machine set up procedures and quality specifications.
• Inspect materials for imperfections and issues that may lead to a faulty finished product.
• Able to see color variations and sheen differences in stains and finishes.
• Properly use, adjust, and calibrate tools and equipment.
• Identify all materials needed for projects by colors, part numbers, descriptions and materials.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines for each machine or work area as required.
• Utilizes computer ERP system to track processing times, enter piece counts, issue material, report issues, validate materials, and access drawing specifications.
• Validates proper parts/ complete assemblies through ERP system, drawings, bills of materials, and/or written instructions.
• Assist in packaging duties to protect finished parts from damage.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and efficient work environment utilizing lean/ 5-S principles.
• Works well and contributes to a fast-paced team environment
• Completes other related tasks/ duties as required

Education/Experience Needed- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
-Cabinetry assembly and/or residential/ commercial multi-family construction experience is preferred.
