The AmeriHealth Caritas Foundation is dedicated to preventing and mitigating adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), which will help drive positive outcomes for children’s health and set a strong foundation for a lifetime of wellness. In addition to preventing and mitigating ACEs, the foundation promotes protective and compensatory childhood experience (sometimes referred to as PACEs), which can counteract the effects of ACEs.

Grants awarded through the foundation are based on three pillars: empowered families, healing behaviors, and access to health care. To promote these pillars, the foundation prioritizes nonprofit organizations that work to end ACEs by supporting families and children and equipping them for an emotionally healthy future. The foundation expects to make one-year, project-specific grants totaling up to $1.945 million, with awards ranging from $100,000 to $250,000.

Applicants must provide programs and support that are comprehensive, customized, asset-based, and community-led; focus on healing behaviors, access to health care, and/or empowering families; reach communities with a high proportion of Medicaid enrollees; have a demonstrated impact; and be responsible for the implementation and management of the project.

To be eligible, organizations (and/or their fiscal sponsor) must be a 501(c)(3) Internal Revenue Service (IRS)-designated nonprofit organization and be located in a U.S. state or territory in which AmeriHealth Caritas Medicaid health markets operate, which are Delaware, District of Columbia, Louisiana, Michigan, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and South Carolina. Applicants must have annual revenue under $10 million for the most recently completed fiscal year, have been operational for at least three years, and have a recent IRS Form 990 available.

Together with residents and partners, the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) aims to help forge resilient and inclusive communities of opportunity across America—great places to live, work, visit, do business, and raise families.

LISC invites applications for the NFL Foundation’s Grassroots Program, which provides nonprofit, neighborhood-based organizations with financial and technical assistance with the goal of improving the quality, safety, and accessibility of local football fields. Nationwide, the program has committed more than $63 million to support 437 fields in over 100 cities—all areas where NFL teams have a home base. Fields are newly built or significantly renovated, with improvements that include irrigation systems, lights, bleachers, scoreboards, goal posts, and turf.

The program provides grants of up to $250,000 for capital improvement projects to community-based organizations, middle schools, or high schools serving a neighborhood consisting of low- and moderate-income families and individuals. Applicants must have been in existence for at least three years, have at least one-full time staff member who will manage and oversee the project, and have a proven history in real estate development and recreation programming.
