Today marks our 26-year “I Love You” Anniversary! 💕

Somedays, it feels like a lifetime ago. On other days like today, I feel as if I am saying it again for the first time.

We celebrate three anniversaries each year, including this one. The others are our “First Kiss” and Wedding Anniversaries. As we approach three decades together, we realize more than ever that at least for us, staying together is a choice.

It is a choice we make every day to love and be loved by one another. Ryan has been my safe place to fall since I was a teenager, and I am honored to be his, too.

When we said those words while studying together so long ago, we had no idea how our love would change, grow, and then multiply with the addition of our children. 👦 👧

Ryan, I loved you then, and I love you even more now. Cheers to the best that is yet to come! 🥰

When you know your WHY, everyone around you knows it, too. 💕

You move and speak differently, and it underscores every decision you make.

It is the reason for all you do. Perhaps it is to give your children the life you always imagined for them or what you never had. Maybe it is for yourself and to prove you could despite the challenges you faced, for your family tree, or some other reason.

It will be standing alongside you in the rubble of tough times and is the reason for your rise when you overcome. 💫

It has been YEARS since I first heard businessman & author Simon Sinek speak about knowing your WHY and communicating from the inside out. His TED Talks changed how I view myself and the world around me!

I realized that whether it is real estate investing, parenting, volunteering, or anything else in life, people don't care what you do—they care why you do it. And, what you do simply proves what you believe.

Your life can change as well once you make your WHY your check point for every choi Building your foundation in life, Momming, real estate, or relationships begins by laying one brick at a time. First, it starts with WHY. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Location: Grand Canyon, Arizona, USA 📍

The vastness of our country never ceases to amaze me. ✨There is nothing like a place so big to make you feel so small & put everything into perspective. ✨

We had a blast this past summer traveling around the world, including spending time in Phoenix, Scottsdale, and at the Grand Canyon with the kids. 🏜️We visited with a dear friend from childhood & his wonderful wife, and the food was amazing!

While we were out West, Drew went to a 🏈Nike Football Camp, Ana had the time of her life at art camp 🎨at Creative Color Art Studios, and Mom & Dad enjoyed some quiet time planning, sunning, sipping, and imagining. 🍹

It feels like an endless summer in Florida ☀️most of the time, yet nothing compares to our family adventures.

Sometimes, letting go is harder than we ever imagined. It is HARD to let go of people and things that no longer serve us, anchor us in place, or that are pulling us backward.

We may not even see what has been right in front of us the entire time.

5 years ago, I would never have imagined saying goodbye to the nonprofit world in which I had been immersed for most of my career. It was a part of me, and my identity as a leader in that space was well-defined.

My husband noticed I had developed a sharpness in the tone of my voice, even when talking about routine household things. I didn’t think much about it until one day when I was in a virtual meeting. I realized I just didn’t want to be there. There was an undeniable scarcity mindset in that room, and it was draining me.

I was tired. Really tired in a way an early 40-something should not be. I should have listened to my body then, yet I didn’t.

What I would go on to finally understand several months later while recovering from major surgery was this simple truth: I alone could set myself free.

My family – and myself – were worth more than a good enough life. I wanted a great life – one I was excited to wake up to each day, that gave me renewed purpose, and allowed me to enjoy small moments with my kids rather than hurrying through them. Fake “friends,” toxic co-workers, being a people pleaser who almost always put herself last, and so much more eventually became part of my past.

I had to unlearn so many behaviors that were holding me back, like the knee-jerk reaction to say “yes” to almost every event or invitation or donation request.

I learned “no” is a complete sentence.

Most importantly, I had to release people from my life who were not truly supportive or making me better. The hardest parts were focusing on myself and re-imagining my life.

It wasn’t easy, yet it was so worth it.
