Had the opportunity to visit a Community Partnership School as part of my role as a Client Advisory Board Member with Family Connects Jacksonville.

What made this visit especially meaningful was that the school we toured was Edward H. White High School my alma mater.

It was inspiring to see the collaboration between organizations such as AGAPE Community Health Center, Children’s Home Society of Florida, Duval County Public Schools, Florida State College at Jacksonville, and University of North Florida working together to support students, families, and the community.

As a graduate of Ed White, it was a full-circle moment to walk the halls again and see the investment being made in the next generation.

I’m excited to see the impact this work continues to have on students and families for years to come.

Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

Memorial Day is a time of reflection a reminder that sacrifice, service, and commitment shape stronger communities and create opportunities for future generations.

As we spend time with those we care about, may we also take a moment to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice and the families who continue to carry their legacy.

Today, Fatherhood Navigator had the opportunity to contribute to an important national conversation.

Our founder, Devin D. Coleman, served as a panelist during the “Who’s At Your Table?” session hosted by the National Center for Family & Parent Leadership and the Early Childhood Investment Corporation.

The discussion focused on strengthening father-inclusive practices and helping organizations create environments where fathers and male caregivers feel welcomed, valued, and engaged.

At Fatherhood Navigator, we believe meaningful father engagement doesn’t happen by accident, it happens through intentional strategy, relationship building, and systems that recognize fathers as essential contributors to family well-being.

Last night, I had the opportunity to attend “An Evening of Taste” hosted by Children’s Home Society of Florida at Jacksonville Golf & Country Club.

It was a powerful evening centered around impact, community, and the shared responsibility we all have to support children and families throughout our communities. Events like this are an important reminder that meaningful change happens when organizations, leaders, and community members come together with a common purpose.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to connect with others who are committed to strengthening families and creating brighter futures for the next generation.

I had the opportunity to speak with approximately 80 students about leadership, decision-making, accountability, and the importance of believing that your current circumstances do not have to determine your future.

One of the biggest messages I wanted them to leave with is this:

Your life will often move in the direction of your decisions.

Thank you to the organizers for the invitation and for investing in young people through events like this.

And thank you to every student who showed up, participated, and brought energy to the room.

The next generation has incredible potential, and I’m grateful to play even a small role in encouraging them to think bigger, move wiser, and lead stronger.

It was a pleasure attending the BILT end-of-year event and connecting with others who are committed to supporting students, programs, and meaningful community partnerships.

As this academic year comes to a close, events like this are a great reminder of the importance of showing up, staying engaged, and investing in the success of young people. I’m grateful for the opportunity to be part of spaces where collaboration, encouragement, and student-centered work are at the forefront.
