Are fathers represented in decisions that affect families?

Meaningful father engagement goes beyond inviting dads to participate. Their experiences and perspectives should also help inform the programs, services, and decisions that affect families.

The Fatherhood Navigator Program helps fathers strengthen their voice, leadership, and engagement.

Fathers belong at the table.

Are we truly engaging fathers or simply expecting them to find their way into programs that weren’t designed with them in mind?

Father engagement requires intentionality.

The "Fatherhood Navigator Program" is designed to create a space where fathers can connect, learn, strengthen their skills, and better navigate the responsibilities and challenges of fatherhood.

Because engaging fathers isn't just about inviting them into the room. It’s about designing the room with them in mind.

From Participants to Leaders: Strengthening Father Leadership in Family-Serving Systems

Fathers and male caregivers bring valuable perspectives that can strengthen programs, policies, and outcomes for children and families. Yet too often, they're invited to participate without being given meaningful opportunities to lead.

Join us for an engaging webinar featuring father leaders who will share their experiences navigating family-serving systems, the barriers they encountered, and what organizations can do to build authentic partnerships with fathers.

Together we'll explore:
• Why father leadership matters
• Common barriers to meaningful engagement
• Practical strategies to recruit, support, and retain father leaders
• How organizations can move beyond participation to shared decision-making

Whether you're a parent leader, service provider, nonprofit professional, or systems leader, you'll leave with practical ideas you can implement to strengthen father engagement in your own organization and community.

Focused.

I’m learning to be where my feet are.

There’s something powerful about being fully immersed in a space where knowledge is shared, taken in, questioned, and new perspectives emerge.

But the value isn’t just in what you learn.

It’s in what you do with what you learn and what you pass along to others.

Learning. Applying. Sharing.

After watching They Fight and reading the story behind the film, I’m left inspired by the search for redemption while also feeling the weight of the imperfections along that path.

But I keep coming back to a question:

What happens when men are invested in and supported before the proverbial straw breaks the camel’s back?

How many families remain whole?

How many children grow up with a stronger sense of identity and connection?

How many communities prosper because men received support before reaching a point of crisis?

We often celebrate redemptio and we should. But redemption also challenges us to consider what could have happened earlier.

What if support, opportunity, accountability, mentorship, and meaningful investment came before the crisis?

They Fight is a powerful story. For me, it also raises an important question about how we engage and support men, fathers, and families before things fall apart.

Today I had the opportunity to attend the School Principals and SAC Chairs Joint Training as Chair of our School Advisory Council 💙springfield middle ❤️ .

I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve our school community alongside dedicated parents, educators, administrators, and community partners who are committed to helping every student succeed.

Serving as SAC Chair, for 3 years, has reinforced something I already believed: parents and community members have a voice, and that voice matters. The decisions and discussions happening in our schools today help shape the educational experience of our children tomorrow.

If you’ve ever considered becoming more involved in your child’s school, I encourage you to attend a School Advisory Council meeting. You don’t have to be an expert, you simply have to care about the success of our students and be willing to contribute.

Together, we can help build stronger schools, stronger families, and stronger communities.

Some of the most meaningful work doesn't happen when we solve someone's problem, it happens when we equip them to solve problems for themselves.

There's a well-known proverb:

"Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime."

I've experienced both sides of that truth.

There was a season when I benefited from someone providing the "fish." It met an immediate need, and I'll always be grateful for those who invested in me.

But what transformed my life wasn't the temporary assistance. It was learning how to "fish", developing the knowledge, skills, and confidence to create opportunities instead of waiting for them.

That experience continues to shape my work today.

Whether I'm consulting with organizations, facilitating workshops, developing father engagement strategies, or speaking to audiences, my objective is to build capacity not dependency.

When we invest in people's ability to think critically, lead effectively, navigate systems, and create solutions, the impact extends far beyond the individual. It strengthens families, organizations, and communities for years to come.

Temporary assistance has its place.

Lasting transformation comes from equipping people with the tools to thrive.

That's the work I'm committed to.

What is one skill someone taught you that continues to benefit you today?

It was a pleasure attending the ribbon cutting for The Hive @ Beaver Street as a fellow business owner.

Having previously had the opportunity to participate in programming through the Beaver Street Enterprise Center, it was especially meaningful to see this next chapter come to life. Spaces like The Hive represent more than a new facility, they create opportunities for entrepreneurs to connect, learn, collaborate, and grow.

Congratulations to Executive Director Terrance Brisbane, the Beaver Street Enterprise Center team, and everyone who helped make this vision a reality. I look forward to seeing the impact The Hive will have on Jacksonville’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
