If you said surface prep, you nailed it! βœ…

This student is using a dual-action (DA) sander to smooth and prep the panel so primer and paint lay down flawlessly. A great paint job is only as good as the prep underneath it. πŸ’ͺ

ICYMI!

From Robotics to the Stars πŸŒ™ JWJ Students recently worked with Sphero kits, designing and creating their own projects while building problem-solving, creativity, and coding skills along the way.

Their learning even reached beyond the classroom during International Observe the Moon Night!

A group of robotics students and their families participated in a beach cleanup at Hanna Park before joining the Northeast Florida Astronomical Society (NEFAS) astronomy event.

We love seeing our students create, explore, and discover both in and beyond the classroom!

Your internship could be more than something you put on your resume. It could be your way in. πŸ‘€

The best internships give you a chance to build skills, make connections, and prove what you can bring to a team.

So don’t just show up and check the boxes. Look for ways to make an impact, build relationships, take initiative, and make it clear that you’re interested in staying.

You never know when an internship could turn into your next job opportunity.

**Go into your internship with intention. Your next opportunity could be sitting right in front of you.**

ICYMI!

For the second year in a row, Mandarin High School held three Academy Assemblies and continue to see the difference they make in building accountability, pride, and a strong sense of community among students.

Mr. Durkin led the assemblies alongside our teachers and did a phenomenal job creating an experience that celebrates our students while reinforcing the standards and expectations that help them succeed!

We’re proud of the way our students continue to show up, step up, and take ownership of their Academy community!

πŸ’» **New technology. New opportunities. Brighter futures.**

10 Duval County CTE students were recently selected to receive personal laptops through a community partnership between Gator Bowl Charities and AT&T!

As part of the initiative, 125 local students received laptops to support their education, career exploration, and future goals. Among those selected were students from the **Entrepreneurship Master Academy** and **Sport & Entertainment Marketing Academy** at Westside High School.

Congratulations to **Brooke Edmonds, Adilyn Crawford, Lynaria Henley, Ryan Barnes, Cailien Lizzardi**, and five Entrepreneurship Master Academy students on this exciting opportunity! πŸ‘

And the surprises didn't stop there! One Westside student received a **Golden Ticket**, giving him and his family tickets to the Gator Bowl and field access during the trophy ceremony. πŸˆπŸ†

We’re grateful to **Gator Bowl Charities and AT&T** for investing in Duval County students and helping provide the tools, experiences, and connections that can open doors to future success.

Meet CTE Alumni Blake King!

Blake discovered his passion for the turf and landscape industry through hands-on experiences at Baldwin Landscape Academy. From learning equipment operation to plant identification and caring for sports fields, the program gave him the skills and confidence to pursue a career he hadn’t originally considered.

Today, Blake serves as Assistant in Agronomy at Blue Cypress Golf Course, putting those CTE skills to work every day. His journey is a great example of how hands-on learning can help students discover their passions and turn them into careers.

His career launched from a CTE program! Yours can too! See other stories like his in our Alumni Spotlight Video - LINK IN BIO πŸ”—
