Today was an absolute blast! Can I say our first auction went off without a hitch? Of course not! But we all had an amazing time and pulled off a great, fun, exciting, welcoming first auction! Thank you to everyone who came and shared the day with us, and those who brought home something cool! A super special thank you to our outstanding staff! I mean, wow, they totally killed it! Today's the day! The doors are open at our new home in Franklin, New Hampshire — and we couldn't be more excited to welcome you.

Our Soft Opening Antique Auction kicks off at 2:00 PM with 205 lots crossing the block, including an oversized oil painting after Delacroix's "Greece on the Ruins of Missolonghi," a carved oak Green Man bookcase, a French Napoleon III mother-of-pearl inlaid wall clock, cobalt-decorated stoneware from Norton, Whites Utica, Goodwin & Webster, and other New England makers, an antique running horse weathervane, a leaded stained glass "Beds" trade sign from a Boston boarding house, and so much more — from maritime paintings and fraternal ephemera to vintage toys, folk art, and trade signs.

Before it was an auction house, 58 South Main Street was a Masonic lodge. Before that, a church — and before that church, another church stood on the same ground, dating back to 1838.

The building holds a recast bell with its own story inscribed in the bronze, a tower clock built by E. Howard & Co. of Boston, a painted stage mural by scenic artist Egbert L. Foster dated 1918, memorial stained glass given by families and Sunday-school classes over generations, and a pipe organ converted from an Estey original. We dug through committee reports, city letters, newspaper clippings, and the bell itself to piece it all together.
