Our amazing grandson -Zaine sharing the word of the day every morning with me. It’s such an amazing way to start the day! It is so amazing to see him grow on his journey of life. He has gone through much, overcomes much and continues to conquer each day while giving to others his inspiration. He demonstrates that we don’t have to be perfect to believe and to inspire. In fact, because he’s human people watch and listen. This young man brings light to my world! Thank you honey for sharing this with me every morning.

I often use a life analogy I thought of one day when speaking to an audience with troubled pasts. It goes a little something like this...

When I think of driving and the reason for such a large front windshield, I think of it as our future. There is so much out there for us that we need a much larger view so we don't miss what is in front of us. The side view mirrors are there to keep us from crashing into things that are trying to keep us trapped in the middle of our past and our future, and the rearview mirror is small because it needs only to remind us of what we have left behind.

The further away we get from what is behind us, the smaller it gets. However, not to be fooled because it can sneak back up and run right back into us if we are not paying attention.

So, keep your focus on what is ahead of you, keep your front windshield clean. Glance every now and then in your side mirrors of life to ensure everyone/everything is in its own lane and look up and back in your SMALL rearview mirror to be reminded of how small your past is, how it is behind you and gets smaller and smaller as you move away from it.

Be the driver of your life.

Every choice we make will empower or dis-empower who we are. Even if we make mistakes we can be empowered through the lesson(s) we learn from them. We become dis-empowered when we don't learn and keep making the same mistakes with no change. We become dis-empowered when we allow others to tell us what our value is instead of finding value in ourselves. Whenever you are faced with a situation, weigh out the pros and cons before you make a decision. Do things that promote empowerment, find strength in knowing you have choice and find value within yourself. Be EMPOWERED THROUGH PERSONAL CHOICE!!!
