The Blindhound Mike’s totally blind. I’m his less blind wife 👀
Can he figure it out? Cars, life & more 🚗🌱
See how he experiences the world 👋

I saw what looked like a classic car and just knew Mike would want to check it out.

Unfortunately for him, it wasn't actually a car. 😂

Good news though... we'll be heading out of town this weekend to another car show, so Mike will have plenty of real cars to explore with his hands.

I don't think Mike has touched a car quite like this one in his entire life.

Every time he thought he knew what he was feeling, he found something new. By the end, I think he liked exploring it as much as identifying it. 😂

Never thought our little corner online would lead to this… but Mike was invited to be a Best of Show judge at a New Mexico car show 🏆🚗

Honestly, we’re honored the local car community has embraced him the way they have. Mike may be blind, but his love for cars is very real 😂

Now help us out… what should Mike look for when judging Best of Show? 👀

I didn’t tell my blind husband what car this was. The second he touched it, he immediately knew.

What I love most though is watching him explain why he loves this car so much and hearing the little details he notices that most people never would.

Also, wait until the end because Mike shows me his favorite part of the whole car and I was genuinely surprised by it. 👀

We went to Round1 in Albuquerque with family while everyone was in town, and of course we had to test Mike on a few arcade games 😂🏀

Honestly, arcades are a lot harder to navigate blind than most people probably realize. Most of the games rely almost completely on visual cues, flashing screens, or timing based on things you have to see. There were only a handful of games that were even somewhat accessible for Mike, and this basketball game was probably the best one.

Hopefully one day more arcades start thinking about accessibility for blind players too 👀

People always ask how Mike does this while being totally blind, and honestly this video is probably the best example of it. This wasn’t some car he’s around all the time. He hadn’t come across it since sixth grade… and still recognized it almost immediately at the NMCC Albuquerque Museum car show.

Watching Mike do this stuff really shows how amazing his memory is.

One thing is for sure, Mike won't ever say no to checking out a classic car or the states best green chili burger.

We know where we will be tomorrow! Come hang with us in Belen NM tomorrow 👋

I always love seeing Mike guess flavors because it really shows how much taste is tied to visual expectations. A lot of people don’t realize how much their brain “sees” flavor before they even take a bite. Mike usually picks up on flavors better than most people just by taste and texture alone 😂

Tonight’s challenge: funky Confetti Cheerios 🎉

Also yes… we WILL be at the Henderson Hot Rod Days show in Vegas this October and we are already excited for the adventures and cars Mike is going to experience there.

Most people don’t expect a blind guy to recognize a vehicle just by touch but Mike keeps surprising everyone 😳

This was our first time filming him guessing an old van. What I didn’t realize at the time is the car at the end is actually one Mike hasn’t touched since he was a kid and one of his all time favorites 😭

That video will be up soon.
