I made this quilt for my guild's "ugly fabric" challenge. We were randomly given a piece of "ugly" fabric and challenged to make something with it. My ugly fabric is the brown used in the border. This was a fun project!

We've come a long way, baby! Old quilt frame, suspended from the ceiling. Lower it to gather around and hand quilt. When they needed it out of the way, theywould pull a rope and raise it up to the ceiling.

I am so excited! I am going to join some ladies from my guild tonight and have dinner with Kim Diehl! For those of you who have never heard of her, she is famous in the quilt world. She has written many quilt pattern books, has her own fabric line, and travels the country teaching her techniques. Tomorrow I am taking a class with Kim. Can't wait!

My customer made this quilt for her 13 year old grandson's birthday. She chose a skateboard quilting pattern because her grandson really likes skateboards.
