When a simple project over couple days turns into a complete soil replacement 5ft down. What was supposed to be a fairly easy old house place demo and old footers turned into some of the worst soil decomposition I’ve ever seen. After removing old slabs and footers we found a 1/2 acre of property that you could walk on and felt like a trampoline, step in a spot and watch it move 5ft from you. After examining we found an even older house place was shallow buried along with other items. We ended up digging a 50x100 area up 5ft deep before finding solid ground. Over 100 triaxle loads of material came in and out to get this property looking the way it does now along with 300ft of French drain pipe.

Busy day for the crew at H&S Excavating Contractors. A new RV pad first thing this morning then wrapping up the day getting access to the entrance back open on one of our commercial projects here in Jasper in front of Marvin’s. Want to wish everyone a happy 4th and to please be safe if traveling.

Project we just wrapped up yesterday for a customer needing old ledge rock concrete slab hauled out, French drain installed and graded with base material using our grade transit system. It is now ready for the concrete company to come in and get a new slab installed. Humidity was killer but the guys pulled through and did a great job!
