Hello all, and happy holidays! In years past, the Sugar City Appliance crew has rallied to gather monies, purchased groceries, stored them, boxed them up, and distributed them through out Jeanerette. Unfortunately this year, TIME wont allow us to do that, so we had to seek an alternative. Fortunately, I found a LOCAL option!

Raintree Market, in Charengton, has partnered with St. John the Evangelist church here in Jeanerette. St John's is distributing vouches to families in need and the vouchers can be redeemed for meat, dairy, and produce at Raintree Market. And the cool thing is the vouchers are good through the first week of January,

Donations can be made at Raintree Market at the customer service counter, Sugar City Appliance has made a sizable donation, and we encourage you to do so as well!

We want to thank everyone who helped make the turkey fly this year! Special thanks go to the Jeanerette fire dept. and everyone who donated food, plus the financial contributions of the attorney's office of Heather Duhon Moore, and Mike Hebert ( a true son of Jeanerette) this year was a success thanks to everyone involved, we managed to give out 22 complete dinners.

We’re teaming up with the Jeanerette Fire Department this year to provide Thanksgiving dinners to some local families in need of a helping hand. We’ve already raised enough to feed at least 10 families, but we’d love to be able to do even more. If you’d like to donate, we are accepting cash donations through Friday 11/19, and the fire department is accepting food donations through Monday 11/22. Big shout out to LaShiqua Matthews for coming up with the idea to do this and organizing it!

It's that time of year! Power surges are common during and after tropical storms and hurricanes. Protect your appliances during bad weather by plugging them into surge protectors, or unplugging when bad weather hits to save yourself repair/replacement costs.

We're excited to announce that we are now offering virtual visits through Streem (think Zoom call for appliance repair)! We're able to properly diagnose three out of four calls with this program, and get parts on the road for our customers an average of 4 days faster!

This week only, we're offering Streem diagnostics for only $75, which includes an in-home diagnostic in cases that we're unable to diagnose through Streem. That's $10-$50 savings off of our regular in-home service charge!

Give us a call at (337)516-0278 to set up your Streem appointment.

These are some great tips for keeping your refrigerator cooling properly. Even the best appliances break down sometimes, but keeping your coils clean and checking your gaskets periodically can take some strain off of your compressor.

There are simple things you can do, from cleaning the gaskets to changing the water filter, that will keep your refrigerator running well for years.

The beginning of a new year is a great time to clean out your dryer vent and duct. Clogged vents can result in soggy clothes, and are responsible for thousands of house fires in the US every year. This video shows how it's done. If you're not a DIYer, give us a call!

The removable lint filter in your dryer doesn't catch it all. Lint buildup can cause house fires, and regular cleaning reduces this risk.
