Effective July 15, 2016, I was transferred by Allied Universal—formerly AlliedBarton—to the Shelter Insurance Home Office (national headquarters) in Columbia, MO, from the Westminster College campus in Fulton, MO. This post now is full-time, as a main security (five days weekly, November 1 through February 28) and Shelter Insurance Gardens (two days weekly, March 1 through October 31) security officer. (All work has been as a licensed unarmed officer.)

Effective November 17, weekly hours will be increased from 38.75 to 40.00.

I currently am employed as a security officer for AlliedBarton Security Services (beginning July 5) in Columbia, Mo. (Shelter Insurance)—first and third shifts. (I began training and third shift on the Westminster College campus in Fulton, Mo.)

Duties: Foster positive relations between Shelter Insurance and building and garden visitors—and employees—and the security team; ensure buildings and grounds security; patrol grounds on foot and by golf cart; perform building security checks/lockups; observe video monitors and respond to entry/exit incidents and entry alarms; perform camera/CCTV system and hardware checks; respond to, investigate and report grounds incidents (as applicable); interview eyewitnesses and gather pertinent data (as applicable); prepare and submit detailed reports (as applicable); communicate and cooperate with local law-enforcement personnel (as applicable); enforce company rules and regulations; other responsibilities, including—but not limited to—responding to weather and other emergencies/alerts (first and second shifts). (Previously deployed on Westminster College campus from July 5-14—training and third shift.)
