Senior Center Fire Evacuation Drill

On 08/26/2026, Twiggs Fire Department conducted a fire evacuation drill at the Senior Center. The purpose of the drill was to ensure that everyone in the building could safely evacuate in the event of an emergency.

Fire personnel assisted with the evacuation and made sure everyone exited the building safely. The drill was completed successfully, and the members of the fire department greatly appreciated everyone who participated and cooperated during the exercise.

During the month of July, the dedicated members of Twiggs County Fire Rescue proudly responded to 173 calls for service throughout our community.

Every call represents someone in need, and our firefighters, first responders, and dispatchers stand ready 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to answer that call.

🚒 TWIGGS COUNTY FIRE RESCUE – MAY 2026 CALL VOLUME REPORT 🚒

During the month of May, Twiggs County Fire Rescue responded to 192 calls for service throughout our community.

Our firefighters and first responders answered calls ranging from medical emergencies and motor vehicle rescues to fires, hazardous materials incidents, and storm-related emergencies.

Thank you to our dedicated personnel who stand ready 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to serve and protect the citizens and visitors of Twiggs County.

🚒 Interested in a Career in the Fire Service? 🚒

Twiggs County Fire Rescue is excited to announce the launch of our new Exploring Career Education Program in partnership with the Scouting America Exploring Program!

This program is designed for youth ages 14-20 who are interested in learning about careers in the fire service. Participants will gain hands-on experience, take part in training activities, develop leadership skills, and learn what it takes to serve their community as a firefighter.

📅 Meetings will be held twice each month and will include training, educational activities, and opportunities to learn firsthand about the fire service.

✅ Open to youth ages 14-20
✅ No experience required
✅ No cost to join
✅ Applications are available now
