The public excavation, conducted in partnership with the city of Delray Beach, gave biologists an opportunity to assess the nest while teaching visitors how they can help protect sea turtles. FULL STORY ⬇️

Join the City of Delray Beach in person for a sea turtle nest excavation with Ecological Associates, Inc. at 8:30 a.m. on July 14th. The nest is located on the beach east of the Orange Grove lot. (weather permitting)

Just popping out to say hello! 👋

Sorry we’ve been a little MIA from social media these last couple of weeks… the turtles have really been kicking our butts. 😵‍💫

We crunched some numbers to give you all a mid-season update and here are the results:

-The loggerheads heard that the greens went wild in 2025, said “hold my beer 🍺”, and have been nesting in droves ever since.
-The leatherbacks are having an excellent year and are STILL nesting. Seriously, ladies, it’s July. You can go home now. Please? 🙏
-The greens were off to a slow start but finallyyy started showing up the last few weeks and boy has our team been feeling it.😅

In total, our team has documented 28,315 nests so far for the 2026 season. That’s 8,547 MORE than 2025. And we’ve still got 3.5 more months to go! 😳
