As we reflect on the past year, we will be spotlighting some of our highlights this year. In September, our FEP crew participated in a team building activity that the Healthy Start Coalition of Brevard County organized, putting together resource bags for clients. Beautiful baby girl! We’re celebrating one of our Brevard County Healthy Start families and the empowering journey they took to welcome their first baby.

With the support of their Home Visitor, Jamie Summitt, this family prepared for a natural birth through weeks of education, comfort measures practice, and self-advocacy tools. Their confidence paid off — they avoided induction and welcomed their baby girl completely naturally, just as they hoped.

At the Family Empowerment Project, all of our Perinatal & Parenting Educators receive specialized training in comfort measures techniques to help birthing parents and their partners feel prepared, supported, and confident.

We’re so proud of this incredible mom and so grateful for the compassionate, skilled support Jamie brings to every family she serves.
