It’s easy to assume a quick look is enough, but Home Watch is more than that.

Home Watch providers are trained to look for obvious issues, notice when something doesn’t seem right, and report that to the homeowner right away.

NHWA-accredited providers follow a structured approach with clear, timely reporting so homeowners stay informed about what’s being observed.

Choose a Home Watch provider that does more than just take a quick look.

You know that moment when you’re halfway through your trip and a random thought hits you…

“Did I turn off the stove?”
“Did I lock the back door?”
“Did I close the garage?”

It happens more than people like to admit. Having someone check on your home takes that guesswork out of the equation.

Make sure your Home Watch provider checks your home right after you leave so you can relax and enjoy your time away.

Home Watch is more than a quick stop at a house; it is a professional visual inspection of a home or property while it is unoccupied, focused on identifying obvious issues before they become larger problems. Providers look for signs of leaks, storm damage, system concerns, and overall property integrity so the home remains monitored through structured oversight.

Professional Home Watch also includes clear and accurate communication and documented reports. Homeowners receive updates that outline the condition of their property and any concerns that require attention.

If your home will be unoccupied, work with an NHWA accredited provider who operates with defined standards and accountability.

When someone is away from their home, they are placing real trust in the person walking through that front door.

Professional Home Watch is built on three core principles: trust, communication, and confidentiality. It’s not just about checking a property. It’s about showing up consistently, reporting clearly, and protecting a homeowner’s privacy and peace of mind.

These pillars guide NHWA-accredited professionals across the industry and help set the standard in an unregulated field.

If you’re a homeowner, choose a provider who operates with defined standards. If you’re a business owner, commit to the level of professionalism the industry deserves.

Water damage moves fast ⏱️

In the first 48 hours, moisture can spread into floors and walls, break down materials, and create the conditions for mold. If you spot a leak or standing water, taking action early can help keep the repair scope smaller.

Not every Home Watch company qualifies for NHWA accreditation. To become an Accredited Member of the National Home Watch Association, a Home Watch business must complete a thorough screening process. This includes verification of insurance and bonding, background checks, license review where applicable, and agreement to follow NHWA’s Code of Ethics and professional standards.

Accreditation helps homeowners identify providers who operate with accountability and professionalism in an unregulated industry.
