READY, SET, GO: Understand the three evacuation levels to keep your family safe from wildfire!

In Idaho, we follow the READY, SET, GO evacuation notification system. Make sure you're signed up to receive emergency alerts from your county officials and that you know what each evacuation step means:

🟢READY
Pack your go-kit, sign up for emergency alerts with your county, and plan your possible evacuation routes.

🟡SET
Grab your go-kit, check the news for updates, and leave if you feel unsafe.

🔴GO
Leave without delay, do not stop to gather belongings or protect your home, and do not return until officials announce that the area is safe.

COMMUNITY NOTICE – LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAINING

The Jerome County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting law enforcement training at Jerome Middle School on September 1–2.

During this training, community members may notice a large law enforcement presence in and around the school. Please be assured there is no emergency.

🔥Fire Restrictions across much of Idaho🔥
Beginning 12:01 a.m. today August 7, Stage 1 Fire Restrictions will be in effect throughout much of Idaho on applicable state, federal, and private lands outside incorporated city limits. These restrictions will remain in place until they are rescinded. (Bonner and Boundary Counties are in Stage 2- see link for details)

Under Stage 1 restrictions:
🔥 Campfires are only allowed in designated recreation sites or in permanent metal or concrete fire structures provided by the landowner or managing agency.
🚫 Open fires outside those approved locations are prohibited.
✅ Propane and other liquid petroleum gas (LPG) stoves and campfires may still be used in areas cleared of flammable material.

These restrictions are being implemented due to critical fire danger and are intended to reduce the risk of human-caused wildfires.
Please do your part to help protect our communities, firefighters, and public lands. Even a single escaped ember can have devastating consequences.
