Welcome to the Evan James Experience!

My name is Evan Collier, founder and consultant of Evan James Resources where I “Manifest the Unthinkable!”But what does this actually mean? Let’s ground ourselves with some foundational elements that led me toward advocacy, tutoring, community engagement and youth programming.

ADVOCACY
As many know, the topic of mental health and wellness has always been an important part of my personality and platform. This speaks to my passion-turned-work pertaining to providing accessible resources to marginalized and otherwise underrepresented communities. Many times when we think of social injustice and calls-to-action, race is typically at the center of these conversations. While advocacy will take various forms on this platform — it will NOT simply be about race. MENTAL ILLNESS DOES NOT DISCRIMINATE. We must first understand the nuances of advocacy in order to effectively do so for others.

TUTORING
Resources are one thing — but are they accessible to everyone? Generalizing educational curriculums undermines the ability for students to effectively learn in a way that makes sense to them. Personalizing our approaches to meet the needs of each student is our expertise.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
It’s all about collaborative problem-solving with our neighbors, friends, and families through deliberation, conversations, workshops and research. We have found that the reliance on government alone does not provide the necessary and adequate solutions we need. Those who are closest to the PROBLEMS are closest to the SOLUTIONS!

YOUTH PROGRAMMING
Working with youth is not a job, but rather a perpetual opportunity to activate the young minds in the way they should go. At-risk youth are one of the most (if not the most) vulnerable populations in the world. This is why programming and engaging workshops matter. Increasing self-efficacy by assessing and enhancing social and cultural capital is my formula to Manifesting the Unthinkable for future generations.

Title: Mathematics Specialist

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: Project-dependent

Education: HS Diploma (Minimum)

Experience: Tutoring: 1 year (Preferred)

Work Location: Remote

We are seeking focused, determined, and highly qualified individuals who have experience with high-level mathematics. The position consists of either one-on-one sessions, independent work completion or a combination of the two.

Extremely flexible hours ranging from 1 - 8 hours a week.

Applicants should:

- Currently be attending a 2 or 4 year higher education institution OR have graduated with a math-oriented degree.

- Have a well-rounded understanding of concepts and formulas related to various math areas.

- Have taken and passed the following: Algebra 2/Trigonometry (minimum), Pre-Calculus, Statistics or Calculus. (other course completion will be examined on a case-by-case basis).

- Have a flexible schedule

- Have access to a desktop/laptop and internet.

Pay rate commensurate with client needs.
