Having a few trusting relationships at work is important to many, having trusting relationships can make the work more enjoyable. We need to have a certain level of trust to share information with mentors, Gallup insists that people engage more and remain at their employer longer when they have a "best friend" at work, and life is certainly easier when there is a trusting relationship with one's manager. Being able to connect with someone to celebrate and commiserate requires a level of trust. As we connect with colleagues it can be a tough to let our guard down to share thoughts and feelings.
