I’ve spent a lot of time building and updating the McLamb Consulting & Support website so that it’s not just pretty—it’s actually useful to the people who visit it.

But there’s one little problem with building your own website:

After you've stared at the same pages approximately 847 times, you already know where everything is. 😂

So I’d love a fresh set of eyes.

💙 Reviews Matter More Than You Might Think

Running a small service-based business is a little different from selling a product.

Before someone reaches out to me, they’re often asking themselves:

Can I trust this person?
Will she actually listen to what I need?
Will she communicate with me?
Will I feel comfortable handing this project over to her?

Professionalism and compassion aren't opposites.

That's something I've come to believe very strongly over the years.

You can be thorough without making someone feel intimidated.

You can ask questions without making someone feel like they should already know the answer.

You can care about deadlines, details, accuracy, and getting the job done correctly — while still remembering there's a human being on the other side of the work.

Whether I'm supporting an attorney, helping a small business owner tackle an administrative project, preparing documents, or working with someone on their résumé, there are a few things you can expect from me:

📄 Your Résumé Should Tell Your Professional Story

Your résumé is more than a list of places you've worked.

And if yours currently reads something like:

Company → Job Title → Duties → Next Job → Repeat
..we might have some work to do. 😂

A strong résumé should help an employer understand not only where you've been, but what you bring with you.

That means looking beyond job descriptions and asking:

✨ What did you accomplish?
💡 What skills did you develop?
📈 What impact did you have?
🔄 Which skills transfer to the position you want next?
🎯 How does your experience connect to where you're trying to go?

And sometimes that's harder to see in your own career than you might think.

I've worked with people who tell me, “I don't really have anything impressive to put on my résumé.”

Then we start talking.

Suddenly we're uncovering leadership, training, problem-solving, project management, customer service, process improvement, specialized knowledge, accomplishments, and years of transferable experience they had never thought to highlight.

You lived it, so it feels ordinary to you.

That doesn't mean it isn't valuable.

My goal with résumé and career support isn't to invent a version of you that sounds impressive on paper. It's to help identify the value that's already there and communicate it clearly.

Virtual paralegal support doesn't mean limited paralegal support. ⚖️💻

One of the biggest misconceptions about working with a virtual paralegal is that there are only a handful of tasks that can be handled remotely.

The reality?

Think about how much of a modern legal practice already happens on a computer.

As a virtual paralegal, I can assist with many of the same responsibilities I've handled throughout my career, including:

There’s a business name, a logo, a website, service packages, invoices, emails, and all the other things that make McLamb Consulting & Support a business.

But behind all of that is just... me. 😊

I'm a veteran. A legal professional. A writer. A problem solver. A small business owner. Someone who has reinvented herself more than once and learned a whole lot along the way.

My professional life has taken me through the Army, military and civilian legal work, administrative roles, research, writing, case management, and eventually entrepreneurship.

And if there's one thing all of those experiences have taught me, it's that I genuinely enjoy helping people move forward.

Sometimes that means taking something complicated and making it easier to understand.

Sometimes it means bringing order to something that has become completely disorganized.

Sometimes it means helping someone recognize the value in their own experience.

And sometimes it simply means saying, “Send it to me. Let me see what we're working with.” 😂

I'm also not someone who believes professionalism requires pretending we aren't human.

I can be meticulous about details and still lead with compassion. I can take your project seriously without making the process unnecessarily intimidating. I can be experienced and still say, “I don't know, but let me find out.”

That's the kind of professional I try to be, and it's the kind of business I wanted to build.

Quite a few things, actually.

One of the reasons I created this business was because support doesn't always fit neatly into one box. Sometimes an attorney needs an experienced paralegal. Sometimes a small business owner needs help getting organized. Sometimes someone needs assistance preparing documents. And sometimes a job seeker just needs a résumé that actually reflects what they bring to the table.

💙 A Little Thank You From Me

I spend a lot of time on this page talking about what I do, the services I offer, and the ways McLamb Consulting & Support can help.

Today, I just want to say thank you.

To the people who have trusted me with their documents, résumés, businesses, projects, and professional needs — thank you for allowing me to be part of something that matters to you.

To the people who have referred someone my way, shared one of my posts, visited my website, followed the page, left a review, or simply mentioned my name when someone said, “Hey, do you know anybody who can help me with this?” — thank you, too. 💙

Small businesses aren't built by one person alone.

Yes, I'm the person behind the laptop doing the work. 😂 But every inquiry, client, referral, recommendation, share, and word of encouragement helps McLamb Consulting & Support continue to grow.
