Are you looking for a beautiful , "Natural Yard"? Well there is no such thing! Be responsible for your landscape. If it needs trimming, trim it! If it needs feeding, feed it! The plants we have today, are, for the most part, a creation of a human....hybrids. If they were in the wild they wouldn't survive for long. Never be guilty of saying "I want it natural", unless you are ready to get out there and eat it or scrub yourself on it. That's nature's pruning system..the animals. If you don't want to mow it, trim it, eat it or worry about it, Lone Oak Mowing would love to help you keep your lawn however you'd like it! 423-914-7434

There are not a lot of things that can be done with your yard or flowerbeds this time of year. Some preparation tasks can be done, now. GYPSUM - if you have a dog it might use the same spot in the yard. Throughout winter spreading handfuls of gypsum can help your grass. This natural soil conditioner helps to neutralize the effects of the dog’s mess. Gypsum can also be used along sidewalks, driveways, and curbs where salt and other melting chemicals may reach your lawn. @ Johnson City, Tennessee

When compost, or anything organic, is in the process of breaking down the temperature inside can reach close to 200 degree. We call it a “hot pile” and it is not ready to use yet. When it is finished “cooking”, the bacteria activity stops, causing the temperature to drop. Now it is safe to use. Anyway you choose to use it you will be feeding the earth good things that would have been in a landfill.
