Goodbye, tree people! It's been a blast working on the Hopkins page, and awesome 'meeting' all of you––but I'm retiring now, this is my last day. Bill's taking the lead so posts will be much cooler, and have less words!

Your welcoming support of my efforts was a wonderful bonus, thank you so much! Special thanks to Justin Pratt (Coty Ellerson and Justin Frank too) for their patient explanations and helpfulness––I couldn't have done much without them or their amazing families. (Lori Fassett Pratt, Tammy Pratt, Autumn Greene!) Thanks also to my friends and family, who jumped into the world of logging with me, just because.

And FYI: Bill truly is hardworking and trustworthy––you're in very good hands!

With gratitude and best wishes,
~(Aunt) Lisa

When loggers set up shop behind MeeMoo the emu's house, he leapt over his 7 ft enclosure and made a run for it. Police followed MeeMoo for 20 miles before getting him home again. We suspect MeeMoo, and the loggers who were likely unaware of the emu's presence initially, are all friends now! bit.ly/41HNmZG

Haven't seen a TerraGator on logging pages before, but saw this one on Forestmachinemagazine and was intrigued. Apparently it's primarily used in agricultural applications, but looks like some loggers are giving it a go!

Shout out to Cody Wittig and his business, ELW Tree Service.

Hi Everyone. This is Lisa, Hopkins FB admin (also Bill and Ashley's aunt). Ugly storm damage has been driving me crazy––messy, hung-up trees, visible from every window in my house.

Then Bill recommended Cody and yay! Cody's estimate was prompt and fair. He showed up as promised, then proceeded to work for hours. Thanks Cody, things look so much better. Even my husband is pleased, that almost never happens!

Our friends at Holbrook Dyson Logging posted about the practice of leaving a few trees behind to provide cover for animals and birds––biodiversity trees they called them. Interesting to see so many comments in response, but as an armchair logger, I'm just in it for photography like this. Especially when it's snowy!

It's Friday! Here's a great shot of Justin Pratt working a cable-skidding job in Vestal. Many know Justin's one of our most experienced (and photogenic) loggers. He also has TWO NEW PUPPIES at his house––puppy pics coming soon! We appreciate you and your friendship, Justin, thanks for all you do!
