City of Gloversville DOES HAVE regular curbside recycling pick up on Wednesday, Nov. 11 (Veteran's Day).

All transfer stations closed Wednesday - except the Landfill Transfer Station, open 7:15-11:30 a.m.

The summer schedule for seasonal curbside recycling routes end on Nov. 1.

On Weds., Nov. 11 - Veteran's Day Holiday: all transfer stations will be closed, except the landfill and landfill transfer station, which are open from 7:15-11:30 a.m. There will be regular curbside recycling pick up in the City of Gloversville on Wednesday, Nov. 11.

As Halloween approaches, here are some ideas for getting creative with your decorations and costume. Use fallen leaves in craft projects or repurpose items from around the house or outside into new decorations. Reuse clothing or give a past costume a new twist. You can sustainably use fallen leaves a number of ways: add nutrients to your lawn by mulching the fallen leaves into the grass with a lawn mower, or you can collect them for your home compost pile. If at-home use isn’t an option, check with your municipality about pickup and collection of leaves.

For the Columbus Day Holiday on Oct. 12:
The Mud Road Landfill will be open Monday from 7:15-11:30 a.m. and resume regular hours on Tuesday. All other transfer stations will be closed Monday.

Transfer Stations will be open regular hours on Tuesday, with special hours at:
Caroga Transfer Station: open from 8 a.m.- noon Tuesday;
Ephratah Transfer Station: open from 10 a.m.- 6 p.m. Tuesday.

There will be no changes or cancellations to curbside recycling pick-up due to the holiday.

Paint Program cancelled

The annual Latex Paint Exchange has been cancelled for 2020, due to COVID-19 concerns.
Residents should give away or donate good paint. Bad or old paint should be dried up in the original can, and when solidified, dispose of it in the regular garbage, with the lid plainly removed.
