It is important to install pour-in-place properly; not only for safety, but longevity. This particular is missing the top coat that serves as a wear layer and protection for the base layer.

Simply rubbing your shoe across this unprotected surface dislodges the rubber buffings, which quickly wear away in high-impact areas. In this case the rocky dirt under the swing is now exposed, defeating the purpose of the safety surface and putting users at risk of injury.

The surface also easily collects dirt and debris. And, being next to a creek you can guess where all this shredded rubber is ending up 😔

It's a family business!

We started Dawson Consulting to put our passions to work in Northern Colorado and beyond. Denise will be focusing on parks and recreation with help from Owen, while Bill continues with technology systems design.

Denise is currently studying to re-certify as a Certified Playground Safety Inspector through the National Recreation and Park Association 🤓 Owen, well, he's napping 😴 And, Bill is busy supporting a great team of education technology professionals with multiple projects 🤪
