The Itasca grapevines are a beautiful variety that thrives in Oklahoma's climate, exhibiting exceptional hardiness and disease resistance, as evidenced by our experience with 5 Itasca vines obtained for testing at our vineyard several years ago. The resulting wine is characterized by its light yellow or straw-colored hue, with aromatic notes of pear, quince, violet, melon, and subtle hints of honey and minerals. Stylistically, it bears similarities to Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc, yet its distinctively lower acidity and higher sugar levels render it highly versatile, suitable for crafting both dry and off-dry wines.
