This week, OBRE is proud to highlight the Northeast Arkansas Mental Health Court (NEAMHC) Enrichment Project. In collaboration with Arisa Health, the mental health treatment courts in Craighead, Crittenden, and Mississippi Counties are doing incredible work!

This initiative is making a real difference by expanding access to mental health courts and creating meaningful alternatives to incarceration for individuals with behavioral health needs. With a focus on evidence-based treatment, recovery support, and community reintegration, NEAMHC is helping participants build healthier, more stable futures.

From increasing court capacity and enhancing services, to prioritizing individualized treatment plans —this project is meeting people where they are and supporting long-term success. Even more impactful is that participants themselves report positive life changes thanks to the program!

A-State’s PBIS Resource Center is making a meaningful difference through their Project P.E.A.C.E. project by helping students feel safe and supported at school. Participating schools from 7 different districts across the state are working toward improved school safety, reduced problem behaviors, and increased mental health awareness as part of this project. Not only do school staff and faculty members receive training to gain the skills they need to create a positive school environment, they also receive yearly School Climate monitoring and subsequent Action Planning assistance from the Center. Through these activities, the Center’s work helps make school a more positive experience for students and teaches educators how to use data-based decision making.

We are proud to partner with Project P.E.A.C.E. in their work toward strengthening schools and supporting student success!

For this week's , OBRE is proud to spotlight Arisa Health's Northeast Arkansas Mental Health Awareness Training (MHAT) Project. Through MHAT, trainings such as Mental Health First Aid and QPR (a su***de prevention framework) are provided in an effort to equip community members to be able to recognize when someone is struggling and connect them to the help they need.

Since the project’s beginning in 2023, over 1,200 people have participated in MHAT’s trainings, including teachers, healthcare professionals, first responders, faith leaders, and community members. Based on data collected by OBRE, there have been consistent reports of meaningful increases in trainee knowledge, confidence, and willingness to help! For instance, 97% of QPR trainees said they had increased knowledge of su***de warning signs. In addition, 83% of those trained in Mental Health First Aid reported greater confidence talking with people about mental health and substance use challenges.

The MHAT Project is helping create communities where individuals living with mental illness and/or substance use disorders are recognized earlier, treated with compassion, and connected to the services they need!
