We've had a few days to let the dust settle and emotions subside, but for some reason the sting isn't going away. Charlie Kirk was assassinated on Wednesday in a politically motivated attack; an attack that the world watched unfold in real time.
There is evil in this world that we cannot understand and that evil does not use logic or rational thinking. Evil does not 2nd guess or look ahead into the future. Had that happened, Evil would know that killing the messenger will not kill the message; but instead amplify it's sound to resonate wider and farther than ever before.
Charlie Kirk was outspoken about his beliefs - Faith, Family, and Country. He was a staunch supporter of the Bible and the Constitution. He put family above almost everything else. Charlie believed that open dialogue guaranteed by the First Amendment would be what brought the County together. Charlie believed that “When discourse ends, violence begins.” Again, he was proven correct. We should be able to have uncomfortable conversations. We should be able to rationalize our thoughts, think for a moment, and either accept or reject the other premise. Well, Evil decided that discourse is not an option. Evil decided that a man who wanted to be remembered, not from his Youtube videos or his company that he founded at the age of 18 but by his FAITH, needed to be removed from this earth. The solace we can take from this is that Charlie was able to meet the maker that he loved so dearly.
So today, Lonestar not only stands with Charlie Kirk, but Lonestar stands with Charlie Kirk's message and his movement. A free speech absolutist, he believed we should be able to talk about anything regardless of how it makes us feel. Words are NOT violence... we WITNESSED violence. We must take a stand and continue to be vigilant about our Faith, our Families, and our Freedoms.
You will be missed Charlie Kirk.
