✨ My 3rd Feature with BOLD JOURNEY Is Live ✨

This one feels especially meaningful because it is my third feature with the BOLD JOURNEY family, and each article has captured a different part of my evolution.

The first article told more of the story of CJD Consulting Solutions and how the work was built.

The second article explored resilience, voice, and the journey of becoming.

This third article feels like the next layer: purpose, legacy, and the Sacred Reformer body of work that is now taking shape through Lead From Within, The Within™, S.E.R.V.E.™, and The Amplified Leader™.

I am deeply grateful for BOLD JOURNEY. They do amazing work highlighting stories that matter to entrepreneurs, leaders, creatives, and community builders. They ask questions that invite reflection, not just promotion. That matters.

This article gave me space to reflect on how purpose is not always found in one big moment. Sometimes purpose is revealed through service, struggle, teaching, coaching, writing, and the quiet work of helping others cross thresholds.

This season is sacred.
It is focused.
It is aligned.

And I am grateful.

✨ What a powerful and historic evening. ✨

Tonight, I had the honor of attending The Power of Collective Action, commemorating the 72nd anniversary of Brown v Board Anniversary Coalition.

This gathering was more than an event. It was a living reminder that the fight for justice, education, equity, and civil rights continues through collective action, courageous leadership, and community commitment. 🙏🏾

Attorney Ben Crump delivered a powerful keynote that reminded us why this work still matters.

History was definitely in the room tonight.

I was also grateful to attend alongside my fellow Kansas African American Affairs Commission Commissioner, Angeline F. Johnson, KAAAC Commissioner, as we continue listening, learning, and serving across Kansas.

And of course, the brothers of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. showed up strong in support of their brother, Attorney Ben Crump. 💜💛

That love and presence did not go unnoticed. Attorney Crump called his brothers out!

Some rooms educate you.

Some rooms inspire you.

And some rooms remind you that we are standing on sacred ground because someone before us dared to fight, organize, sacrifice, and believe. ✊🏾

Tonight was one of those rooms.

Congressional District 4 Town Hall

Saturday, May 30, in Wichita, KS

The Kansas African American Affairs Commission is holding a Community Town Hall and Resource Fair in Wichita in May!

Hosted by Commissioner Angeline F. Johnson, KAAAC Commissioner, this event will provide access to resources and a community listening space to elevate the voices, priorities, and ideas for solutions communicated by Black Kansans from across the state and within all counties of Congressional District 4 (which includes residents residing in the following counties in the Wichita metro area: Butler, Chautauqua, Cherokee, Cowley, Elk, Harvey, Kingman, Montgomery, Sedgwick, Sumner)!

Getting a glimpse into what our communities are experiencing was at the heart of our mission when we started the Town Hall community forum series. ❤️‍🔥

Not only was the inaugural Junction City Town Hall a remarkable success, but it proved that there is something powerful about gathering previously unheard voices to hear their opinions in order to enhance, transform, and shape the future of our communities. 🫱🏽‍🫲🏼

This truly consequential work will positively impact our communities for generations to come.🏘️

We will continue to support our local and state voices and organizations in having their voices heard and valued. 🎤

Junction City spoke and we listened. Below are some of the issues that mattered most:

Yesterday was a powerful reminder of what becomes possible when wellness, entrepreneurship, equity, and community partnership come together.

I was honored to witness the Governor’s Council on Wellness awards ceremony in Olathe, Kansas, where Black Entrepreneurs of the Flint Hills was named the 2026 Organizational Health Champion.

This recognition speaks to the meaningful work BEFH continues to do across the Flint Hills region through mental wellness support, economic opportunity, culturally responsive care, entrepreneurial development, and programs such as Black Joy Is Healing.

As a Commissioner with the Kansas African American Affairs Commission, I am deeply grateful for the alignment, partnership, and collaboration between KAAAC and Black Entrepreneurs of the Flint Hills. Partnerships like this are vital, necessary, and invaluable as we work to support entrepreneurs, expand access, strengthen communities, and improve outcomes for Black Kansans across the state.

I also want to extend my sincere appreciation to our Executive Director, Knoell, for attending and supporting us yesterday, and for the steady support she continues to provide. Her presence, leadership, and commitment to this work mean so much.

It was also heartwarming to hear about the outstanding work being done by other individual and organizational honorees across Kansas, in alignment with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment especially those serving differently-abled individuals and families in rural communities.

Their work reminded me that wellness looks different across our state, but the goal remains the same: helping Kansans thrive where they are.

Congratulations to Black Entrepreneurs of the Flint Hills, to all of this year’s Health Champions and Honorable Mentions, and to every leader and organization building healthier communities across Kansas!

The work continues, and partnership will help carry it forward.

What a powerful and meaningful day in Junction City yesterday. 💥

Yesterday, the Kansas African American Affairs Commission Congressional District 2 Community Town Hall welcomed 45 constitutients in the room for honest conversation, thoughtful engagement, and community-centered dialogue.

From building leadership pipelines to veterans’ concerns and other pressing community issues, important voices were heard and meaningful insights were shared.

On behalf of KAAAC and as Commissioner for Congressional District 2, I extend a heartfelt thank you to Rev. Dr. Larry Jones and the Second Missionary Baptist Church, Junction City, Kansas family for hosting this important statewide event and for helping create a space where African American voices in Junction City could be heard, honored, and elevated.

A special thank you to all who helped make the Town Hall a success: Deacon Curtis Wooten, Deacon Bobby Whitten, Chris Monroe, Brenda Turner, Sister Gabby Golden, Casaundra Tillman, Alvaro Escobedo, Trey'Meka Kay of Aunt Meka's, Chair Angeline F. Thank you City of Junction City, Kansas Government Mayor Terry Butler, Vice Mayor Sam Yoskowitz, and County Commissioner Tremont for representing Junction City and Geary County!

Thank you to the 11 members of Black Entrepreneurs of the Flint Hills who supported, and Sorors of Riley Saline Alumnae Chapter- Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

Discussions like this matter, especially in smaller communities where real dialogue can spark real change across Kansas.

The data and community input gathered from this Town Hall will help inform the Commission’s work in the coming year, as well as future planning for Black Legislative Day.

A final report will be commissioned and sent to the Governor.

Chair Angeline F. Johnson and I, as Kansas African American Affairs Commission commissioners, are on Day 1 of 3 with the Kansas Leadership Center, diving into When Everyone Leads and Your Leadership Edge.

Today was amazing, especially getting tabled and grouped with members of the —including fellow members of my sorority, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. We met outstanding people, built real connections, and had meaningful conversations about KLC’s leadership frameworks.

It was a great refresher for me because I truly love, teach, and speak the KLC language at Dr. Crystal J. Davis Lead From Within. For me, KLC represents servant leadership at its best.

KLC’s 5 Leadership Principles (Framework):

🌻Anyone can lead, anytime, anywhere
🌻Leadership starts with you and must engage others
