The Rainbow Bridge is waiting, but first, Amara gets to know love. ๐โค๏ธ
For Amaraโs last days, there will be sunshine on her old gray face. There will be a soft bed beneath her tired body and a belly full of good food. There will be gentle hands, kindness, and love.
At 12 years old, this sweet gray-faced girl was found wandering as a stray. Her nails were so overgrown they had curled into and embedded themselves in her paw pads. Sadly, that was only the beginning.
A veterinary exam revealed a tumor beneath her tongue and a little body riddled with cancer.
She came into Kerr County Animal Control with no history, no owner looking for her, and not even a name.
Then Kerrville Pets Alive stepped in. โค๏ธ
After her stray hold was complete and no owner came for her, we pulled her from the shelter and gave her a name: Amara- meaning eternal grace.
We donโt have long with her. We canโt undo the years that brought her to us, and we canโt cure what is happening inside her body. But we can make sure the ending of her story looks nothing like the beginning.
And when she goes, she wonโt cross the Rainbow Bridge as a nameless stray.
Sheโll go as Amara. Sheโll go loved. And weโll be right there holding her. ๐โค๏ธ
