🌴 Introducing Chuck Schanamann, founder of Palm Shores Home Watch 🌴

On August 13th & 14th, 2026, I had the pleasure of welcoming Chuck Schanamann to the NHWA Home Watch Boot Camp.

During the in-person Boot Camp, we covered the NHWA's comprehensive curriculum, including specialized information relevant to the southeastern United States. Chuck participated in hands-on home watch inspections at both a private residence and a condominium, followed by extensive Business Basics training focused on industry’s best practices, business development, and effective marketing strategies to help launch and grow a successful home watch business.

Chuck joined the NHWA seeking education and the overall benefits of the National Home Watch Association and shared his impression of the exceptional support available to members, and the willingness of experienced professionals to mentor those entering the industry.

He was very excited to enroll in Home Watch Boot Camp seeking to provide the highest level of service to his clients.

Chuck was a very attentive student, followed many of our suggestions and earned his certification by passing an in-depth exam to earn his Certified Home Watch Professional status.

After spending many years in the medical design industry, Chuck built a career centered on precision, problem-solving, and earning his clients' trust. Throughout those years, he learned that attention to detail and reliability makes all the difference, especially when people are counting on you.

When he moved to Florida, his next-door neighbor was concerned about leaving their home unattended for months at a time. They wanted someone dependable to regularly check on their property, identify potential issues before they became costly problems.

Chuck realized that the same skills that guided his career in medical design—organization, accountability, thoroughness, and a commitment to quality—were exactly what homeowners needed in a trusted home watch professional. This realization inspired Chuck to launch Palm Shores Home Watch.

Congratulations, Chuck, on achieving your well-earned certification! We wish you tremendous success as you grow Palm Shores Home Watch serving the Evergrene Community in Palm Beach Gardens as well as numerous other communities in Northern Palm Beach County.

It was truly a pleasure to share the National Home Watch Association's extensive knowledge and best practices with you.

🌴 Meet Seth Laws, founder of Meridian Estate Watch 🌴

On July 30 & 31, 2026, I had the pleasure of welcoming Seth Laws of Charlotte, North Carolina, to the NHWA Home Watch Boot Camp.
Seth Laws is a North Carolina-based home watch professional with a unique background in business ownership, property management, and maritime operations as a retired yacht captain. This diverse experience has given him the practical knowledge, attention to detail, and professionalism required to oversee high-value homes and estates. Serving the Charlotte and Wilmington areas, Seth provides trusted, reliable home watch services to homeowners seeking peace of mind.

Seth was introduced to the National Home Watch Association through an existing client and is grateful he took the opportunity to learn more about the organization.

While preparing to officially launch Meridian Estate Watch, Seth was immediately impressed by the many benefits of the National Home Watch Association, the exceptional support available to members, and the willingness of experienced professionals to mentor those entering the industry. Determined to provide the highest level of service to his clients, he enrolled in Home Watch Boot Camp to earn his professional certification.

Seth's years as a yacht captain demanded meticulous inspections and unwavering attention to detail in an environment where lives often depended on precision. Today, he brings that same disciplined approach to every home entrusted to his care.
During the in-person Boot Camp, we covered the NHWA's comprehensive curriculum, including specialized information relevant to the southeastern United States. Seth participated in hands-on home watch inspections at both a private residence and a condominium, followed by extensive Business Basics training focused on industry’s best practices, business development, and effective marketing strategies to help launch and grow a successful home watch business.

Seth mastered the material with ease and proudly earned a perfect score on his certification exam. It was my pleasure to present him with his Certificate of Accomplishment as a Certified Home Watch Professional.
Congratulations, Seth, on achieving your well-earned certification!

We wish you tremendous success as you grow Meridian Estate Watch. It was truly a pleasure to share the National Home Watch Association's extensive knowledge and best practices with you.

𝐇𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐢𝐬 𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐤 𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. Most major property problems don't happen all at once. They often begin as a slow leak, an air conditioning unit that stops working, a tripped breaker, or another small issue that goes unnoticed while a home is unoccupied.

Homeowners who arrange for a legitimate Home Watch provider to perform scheduled visits gain more than regular property checks. They gain peace of mind knowing someone is consistently looking for visible concerns and helping identify small issues before they have the opportunity to become larger, more costly problems.

That's the value of professional Home Watch. It's about reducing risk, protecting your property, and helping you stay informed while you're away.

When you're trusting someone to check on your home while you're away, accreditation matters.

Anyone can say they provide Home Watch services. NHWA-accredited members have gone through a thorough vetting process that includes criminal background checks, verification through consumer protection agencies, proper insurance requirements, and a commitment to uphold the National Home Watch Association's Code of Ethics and professional standards.

That means homeowners can feel more confident knowing they're working with a provider who has met established industry requirements and is committed to professionalism and accountability.

Before hiring a Home Watch provider, look for the NHWA Accredited Member logo. If you don't see it, 𝐚𝐬𝐤 𝐰𝐡𝐲.

Remember the blue painters tape after your new build was complete and all the little things you discovered were not quite the way they should be.

I clearly recall the renovation where a carpenters nail near a bathroom pipe created a small hole in the pipe that eventually sprung a leak and flooded the entire home.

Potential clients often tell me "our home is brand new or we just finished a total renovation, it's like brand new!

That does not mean they do not require the same attention as the 20 year old home. In fact, they often need more!
