Latest update from the office:
Good evening. This email is being sent to provide a current update on Hurricane Dorian.
The latest projections predict that the storm will make landfall Tuesday afternoon as a category 4 hurricane.
The storm projections have the storm making landfall a little more north than previously predicted however, as a category 4 storm, if current projections remain, the Jupiter area will experience significant effects of the storm.
The prediction is for very high winds and several inches of rain fall.
For safety all unit owners are being urged to seek other locations to stay until the storm has passed.
The Ocean Trail Unit Owners common grounds have been prepared for the storms impact.
The tennis facilities preparations include:
The tennis nets have been loosened and lowered, the windscreens have been removed the squeegees have been removed and stored away.
The community pool:
The community pool has had additional chemicals added in preparation for the loss of the electricity to the pool pumps. As such the community pool has been closed and will remain closed until the danger has passed.
The pool furniture has been removed and stored for safety and protection.
The Clubhouse:
The management office and all easterly facing windows have been boarded for safety and for protection.
All of the electronic and computer equipment has been covered in protective plastic.
The common area:
All globe light fixtures have been removed and stored away for safety and protection.
The gatehouse:
The exit side (easterly facing) sliding door has been boarded for protection.
The gatehouse will remain manned and operational while it is safe to do so. Once the evacuation order is given and or sustained winds of 35 MPH or higher are in the Jupiter area the staff will be ordered to leave the gatehouse and the removal of the entrance arm and boarding up of the remaining windows and doors will be completed.
The staff will then return once the all clear has been given.
Please keep in mind that once the storm has passed it still may not be safe to travel due to debris. flooding downed power lines. etc, the staff will not return until it has been deemed safe to travel.
FirstService Residentials response teams will be traveling throughout the area and into the community once the storm has passed to access damages and safety conditions.
