Position Summary:
- Full-time position available for an experienced land survey project manager.
- We are seeking an individual with experience in the compilation of boundary research, acquisition of field data, analysis of research and field data, preparation of project computations for use by CAD personnel and ultimately delivery of a final product for the client.
- You will be working closely with our staff of land surveyors, field personnel, other project managers, CAD personnel and office managers.
- Applicants MUST have higher education in the field and/or a minimum of three years of experience in the field and in the office, as well as experience running the various field instruments and field and office software.
- Pay will depend on level of experience, certifications and licenses, if any.

Position Summary:
Directly supports Survey Crew Chief with on the job training for basic knowledge of field procedures, field equipment and safe surveying practices.

Essential Functions:
1. Able to use and maintain field tools (i.e. radios, pocket tape, prism pole, rods, tri-brac, tripod, etc.)

2. Able to load and prepare the field vehicle for the day’s project(s), including but not limited to water jug, charged radios, cement, sand, lath, pipes, nails, paint, flagging, field instruments for the specific project, and any other tasks as may be assigned by the crew chief.

3. Able to safely use and maintain machetes, chainsaws, etc.

4. Able to safely operate field vehicles on and off road. Able to assist in maintaining the cleanliness (inside and outside) of field vehicles, including reporting any maintenance and/or repairs that may be observed, keeping the vehicle in a neat and orderly condition, empty truck of trash and debris daily, clean the exterior and interior on a weekly basis -or more often if necessary.

5. Able to safely traverse diverse terrain on this island.

6. Able to understand and follow directions for the ex*****on of the scope of the project and assist the crew chief with the ex*****on of the project.

Other Responsibilities:
1. Performs other work-related duties as may be assigned.

Education, Experience, and Skills Required:
1. High school graduate or GED

2. Physically able to lift and carry 50 lbs of equipment and hike long distances over a variety of terrain.

3. Able to follow directions explicitly.

4. Valid Hawaii driver’s license and a clean driving abstract and able to appropriately operate a four-wheel-drive vehicle on and off-road.

5. Experience using and maintaining a chainsaw, machete and other surveying equipment (optional)

6. Experience on a survey crew (optional)

7. Surveying drafting experience (optional)

8. Work boots, long pants, short/long sleeve shirt and eye wear (optional).

Beginning Wage: $16.00* / hour

Start at 7:30am till pau (generally around 3:30pm)

Scholarships for 2022
The Rotary Club of Kona Community Foundation has the following scholarships available for 2022:
The Ken and Marge Clewett Scholarship in the amount of $8,000 paid to the recipient annually in $1,000 increments per semester*
The Jim and Sis Bedingfield Scholarship in the amount of $6,000 paid to the recipient annually in $750 increments per semester*
The James Lightner Scholarship in the amount of $4,000 paid to the recipient annually in $500 increments per semester*
The Ron and Kathy Hawkes Scholarship in the amount of $2,000 paid to the recipient annually in $1,000 increments for 2 years*
Scholarships are available to full-time students attending Hawaii Community College – Palamanui Camus and working toward their associate degree or associate of applied science degree. *
*The annual payment of the scholarship requires compliance with a specific GPA, number of credit hours and continuation of enrollment.
Each scholarship has specific guidelines and criteria.
