Our team gathered to relax, celebrate our accomplishments, and kick off the month of December with festive cheer!

Upon arrival, each of us was gifted a unique "elf name" (shoutout to Jolly Cinnamon Shorts and Twinkly McJingles ✨- as a few examples). It was the perfect icebreaker to kick off the evening.

Delicious food, festive drinks, holiday movie trivia, and of course, plenty of mingling and memory-making was welcomed after a busy year.

A few group members were celebrated for their exemplary work in 2024. Each year, we nominate team members for our TAG (Teamwork, Attitude, and Growth) awards for standout work and dedication.

Some of our Re:Build Tekna bike enthusiasts hit the Kal Haven Trail for a stunning autumn adventure!

This 33-mile trail winds from Kalamazoo all the way to the beautiful shores of South Haven, MI. Nothing beats the crunch of leaves under our tires and the crisp fall breeze in our faces! We’re soaking in every mile and loving this season.🍁

For the second year in a row, Re:Build Tekna had the pleasure of hosting nearly 80 freshmen from the University of Michigan. 🌟

In collaboration with Re:Build Manufacturing, we welcomed these students to our site as part of a national initiative that connects local universities with industry opportunities. The program offers students insights into our capabilities, apprenticeships, internships, and shadowing opportunities. U of M students, eager to shape their futures in various engineering fields, heard from our engineering team about the exciting work we do. They also toured our facilities, gaining a glimpse into the dynamic world of engineering across a diverse range of products.

We hope this activity informed and inspired them about the possibilities available in the engineering field and showed them how they may contribute their knowledge in the future! 🚀

We’re excited to welcome our summer interns, Hannah, Adrienne, and Michael. These bright minds are diving into roles in UX/UI, branding, and engineering, bringing fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to Re:Build Tekna’s work.

Meet the Crew:
Hannah Mu: UX/UI Design Intern and recent University of Michigan graduate, specializing in user experience design and research. Hannah aims to craft sustainable and impactful user experiences.

Adrienne Rosey: Design Engineering Intern, recently graduated from Trine University with a passion for product design.

Michael Csom: Graphic Design Intern and senior at Michigan State University, majoring in creative advertising with a minor in media photography, and aspiring to work in the sports or film industry.

At Re:Build Tekna, we value sharing our expertise and nurturing talent in a collaborative environment where creativity and curiosity thrive. We’re feeling the love from Digimate!

For several years, we've had the pleasure of working with Digimate, the company that developed an innovative buddy splint that aids in the healing of finger injuries and seamlessly integrates into a person’s daily life. Dr. David Mayor, the orthopedic surgeon who helped design the buddy splint, collaborated with us on the Digimate logo design, brand collateral, web development, photography, videography, animation, illustrations, and packaging. It was a fulfilling journey.

At Re:Build Tekna, we love helping businesses achieve their goals through innovative strategies and unparalleled support. From brain to box, we are poised to be a vital partner every step of the way.

We had the pleasure of hosting students participating in the MICHIGAN DESIGN COUNCIL's Michigan Design Prize (M-Prize) program for a workshop and a tour of our facility.

The M-Prize is an annual industrial design competition for K-12 students. Participants submit design ideas based on the competition's theme. If their ideas are selected by the judges, the students are paired with design professionals who help them develop a strategy, look, and feel for their product. We provided a creative space for students selected from Lakewood Elementary and Oakwood Intermediate and shared our expertise in industrial design with them, presenting the possibilities of product design and development.

It was a blast working with these talented kids! We're eager to follow the competition as it progresses.

At Re:Build Tekna, we have quite the biking community! Throughout the year, this crew competes and conquers races together, fostering a spirit of camaraderie and healthy competition.

Today, we're pedaling together to celebrate Bike to Work Day, showcasing our commitment to sustainable transportation and living a healthy lifestyle.

To make this event accessible to all employees, we planned meeting points along the route so no one had to ride alone (for too long) and even offered to lend bikes to those interested in joining, but did not own one.

Let's keep the momentum going! May is National Bike Month, a time to celebrate biking in all its forms - as transportation, as recreation, as essential to our well-being and everyday lives. It's not too late to join the movement, hop on your bike, and enjoy the ride!

Recently, several members of our team participated in a collaborative brainstorming session with Triple River CrossFit, located in Three Rivers, Michigan. The organization will host the 2024 Teenage CrossFit Games & Pit Teen Throwdown event in August, attracting participants from across the globe.

Re:Build Tekna values community engagement, and our team was eager to offer CrossFit help, sharing ideas during our lunchtime on how their leaders can streamline the competition.

Together, we strategized the logistics of facilitating the seamless flow of the games across various locations, showcasing the stunning backdrop of the 65-acre facility at the Pit Fitness Ranch, and ensuring a consistent brand experience for participants. The brainstorming session sparked intriguing ideas to infuse the games with a theme that will resonate with attendees, promising them a meaningful brand experience.

We wish Triple River CrossFit all the best as they continue their preparations for this exciting gathering. We were honored to contribute to their event planning and help to make it an unforgettable experience for everyone.
