We are over halfway through a unique plumbing project on North and South Manitou Island!
AMS is managing the plumbing for the complete chlorination and pressurization work on both islands, as well as the Trude Cottage addition.
While this project may be smaller in scale, it requires significant forethought and detailed logistical planning. Located more than six miles off the coast of the Leelanau Peninsula, all materials, supplies, equipment, and living provisions must be transported by ferry across Lake Michigan.
With limited ferry service, our team must carefully plan each trip and bring everything needed to complete the current stage of work. A four-person crew has made approximately 14 trips over the past year, spending three to four days on the islands at a time before returning weeks later to pick up where they left off.
A lot of progress has been made, with a few more trips planned for the fall and spring. We’re proud of the work our team has accomplished on this project!
