Business Consultant Diego Sandoval and Coordinator Aleyah Mayne recently attended America's SBDC Annual Training Event in Atlanta, Georgia!

The week was filled with learning, sharing ideas and connecting with SBDC professionals from across the country. We loved spending time with colleagues from across the Michigan SBDC network who made the trip to Atlanta and strengthening those connections.

From business planning and authentic marketing to responsible AI use and preparing businesses for the future. We're bringing back fresh ideas and practical tools to better support the entrepreneurs and small businesses we serve.

A big week for entrepreneurship in Kalamazoo! 🚀

Our team was proud to be there supporting entrepreneurs at Startup Zoo's September Pitch Night and the 's AI & Software Semifinal, hosted by the MSU Research Foundation and Michigan Economic Development Corporation.

Congratulations to C'Mon Betty on taking home the top prize and our client VolleyNet on taking home the $1,000 Popular Vote Award at Startup Zoo, and to Motmot on its win at PitchMI!

This individual will oversee a centralized team of Intake Specialists to provide a professional, consistent, and efficient "front door" for all clients. The Manager balances high-level systems orchestration—including AI integration and tech stack management—with daily team supervision to ensure every client is efficiently triaged and matched with the right consultant based on geography and expertise. The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Regional Director will play a key role in catalyzing business development efforts across the Capital Region (Ingham, Eaton, Clinton Counties). SBDC is a grant-funded department of LCC’s Community Education & Workforce Development (CEWD) division, and the program contributes to the growth and vitality of the Michigan economy. This program helps new and existing small businesses to start, grow, improve profitability, and create jobs. This position guides the strategic alignment, long-term planning, management oversight, and outreach efforts in order to promote Michigan SBDC’s mission in the region. The Regional Director ensures that all programs are operating in compliance with Federal, State and College statutes, contractual requirements, and policies.
