A closer look at the work behind the scenes at Camp Pendleton.

When upgrading active wireless infrastructure, ex*****on doesn’t stop at getting equipment online—details like cable management, labeling, and panel organization directly impact long-term reliability and serviceability.

This is the standard our Wireless teams bring to every install.

Upgrading critical infrastructure without disrupting operations isn’t easy—but that’s exactly what our Wireless Services team delivered at Camp Pendleton.

✔ 10 microwave links upgraded
✔ Less than 2 hours total downtime across the entire project
✔ Zero-punch QA on the first site

With microwave serving as the primary backhaul, minimizing downtime was essential. Our teams averaged more than two link upgrades per week while keeping systems online and the client fully operational.

The RAN teams are now following through the next phase of the upgrade.

This is what disciplined infrastructure work looks like.

Most teams using the IML RESI PowerDrill focus on collecting accurate data in the field.

But as projects scale, managing that data — across crews, locations, and timelines — becomes just as important.

We built Alatrac to close that gap.

This short video shows how Alatrac works alongside IML equipment to help teams capture, verify, and deliver inspection data they can stand behind.

If you're working with IML drills and managing inspections at scale, take a look: https://alatrac.com/iml.

Early wildfire activity isn’t just about more fires. It’s a signal that risk windows are expanding for utility distribution systems.

The timeline for inspection, mitigation, and hardening work is already shifting earlier in 2026.

Wait for peak season, and you’re too late.

We put together a quick breakdown of what these early signals mean—and how advanced preparation can help protect infrastructure in high-risk areas: https://alamon.com/early-wildfire-activity-signals-elevated-risk-for-utility-distribution-infrastructure/.

Recent reporting is pointing to something utilities are already starting to see firsthand — wildfire activity is showing up earlier, and in places it hasn’t historically.

(Article via Washington Post: https://www.msn.com/en-us/weather/topstories/wildfires-rip-through-unusual-parts-of-us-raising-fears-of-a-brutal-season/ar-AA1ZhGsC)

When ground fires reach energized lines, wooden poles are exposed to direct flame contact at the base, where structural integrity matters most. In many cases, the damage isn’t immediately visible, but it shows up later under load.

The utilities best positioned for wildfire season aren’t reacting to that exposure. They’re addressing it in advance.

That includes targeted hardening strategies like fire wrap / fire mesh engineered fiberglass and resin pole protection systems designed to help preserve structural integrity during fire exposure.

Wildfire risk isn’t following the old timeline in 2026. Preparation can’t either.

Walk into any modern facility and almost everything depends on network connectivity. Security systems. Wireless access points. EV chargers. Building controls. AV systems.

But the reliability of all of it is determined long before any device is installed.
It starts with the infrastructure behind it.

We put together a quick look at how structured cabling supports the systems modern organizations rely on every day.

Electric utility professionals appreciate good barbecue.

Every year, one of the most popular things at our booth is these BBQ seasoning canisters from Kenny’s Seasonings in Texas, featuring a custom label we created for the show.

If you're at TechAdvantage, stop by Booth 1304 and grab one while they last. We’re always happy to talk about pole inspection, reinforcement strategies, and infrastructure hardening - but BBQ conversation is also welcome.
