Job Description: Welder/Fabricator
Reports to: Machine Shop Lead
Profile: Weld and fabricate parts using TIG, MIG, saws, grinders, mills and/or lathes following engineering drawings and verbal instructions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Welding of all material types, all positions, using TIG or MIG.
• Fabricates simple to complex parts/assemblies/weldments to print specifications.
• Determines materials, supplies and methods/techniques needed to complete jobs.
• Works with minimal supervision.
• Directs and trains less experienced welder/fabricators.
• Fixture design and manufacturing.
• Completes set-up sheets and all shop related documents.
• Deburr’s and finishes jobs as run and upon completion.
• Keeps workplace safe, clean and organized.
• Other duties as needed.
Qualifications:
Strong mechanical aptitude and welding/fabrication background with a focus on precision and high quality. Ability to run manual or CNC machines including welders, saws, grinders (mills and lathes are a plus). Good math skills including geometry, algebra and trigonometry. Proven ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings and proficient use of measuring and gaging instruments. Ability to lead with experience, teaching and collaborating with other welder/fabricators and machinists.
