🖤 THRESHING DAY is almost here!!! If you pre-ordered with us, or if you wish you had, PLEASE read this entire post.

🖤 We are typically closed on Tuesdays BUT, as you may know, book releases occur on Tuesdays and I want y'all to receive your books day of. With that said, we will not be open to the public but we WILL be open for those who pre-ordered with us.

🖤 Nikki will be at the bookstore from 11a-5p on Tuesday, September 29th. If this time does not work for those who have pre-ordered, please send us a message so we can make other arrangements.

🖤 If you did NOT pre-order but DO want a copy please let us know asap so we can order more. We had five extras and y'all snatched them up so quick 😅

Join us on Monday, September 28th at 7pm for our next HERstory Archives Book Club!

A collection of fifteen essays written between 1976 and 1984 gives clear voice to Audre Lorde's literary and philosophical personae.

These essays explore and illuminate the roots of Lorde's intellectual development and her deep-seated and longstanding concerns about ways of increasing empowerment among minority women writers and the absolute necessity to explicate the concept of difference—difference according to s*x, race, and economic status.

The title Sister Outsider finds its source in her poetry collection The Black Unicorn (1978). These poems and the essays in Sister Outsider stress Lorde's oft-stated theme of continuity, particularly of the geographical and intellectual link between Dahomey, Africa, and her emerging self.

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with us by purchasing one of our featured titles!

Hispanic Heritage Month honors the history, culture, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans.

Did you know that the celebration used to be a week long, but in 1988, it became a month long celebration taking place from September 15 - October 15?

Why does it begin in the middle of the month? Great question! September 15th marks the independence anniversaries of Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. Pretty cool huh?!

We feel honored to celebrate and uplift these authors every day at Rubber Rose ❤

What happens when you put a table full of crafty supplies, a room full of adults, and absolutely no pressure to be “good at crafting” together? A pretty great evening!

Join Katie from Little Me Studio at Rubber Rose Books & Print for a relaxed creative night where you'll turn ordinary mini composition notebooks into one-of-a-kind keepsake journals.

You'll have a whole assortment of vintage fabrics, reclaimed ribbons, patches, gems, buttons, and other beautiful little treasures to play with. There’s no complicated project to master and no artistic experience required. Just choose what catches your eye and create something that feels like you.

But here's the best part: You don't have to bring a group to have a good time.

These nights are designed for the person who wants to get out of the house, do something with their hands, and spend a little time around other people. Come with your best friend - or come by yourself and let the evening introduce you to a few new ones.

We'll make things, talk, laugh, browse the shop, and enjoy a slower kind of Friday night.
