Restless Spirits Paranormal Research Paranormal Research and Investigation team based out of the Kansas City Area established in 2021. We are a team of five amazing paranormal researchers.

We started off as a mother and daughter duo back in 2018 and have since expanded into the paranormal business and grown our team into what it is today. We are not your average Hollywood as seen on tv investigators. We are local to the KC and surrounding areas, and we take what we do serious. There is no over exaggerations with jumps and screams at every corner. We genuinely look forward to researc

We have no set Lead investigator within the group because things change from place to place. We are all gifted with certain abilities and skills when it comes to communicating with the other side, which allows us to adapt as we go. Every place we have encountered has been different from the last. We have done historical investigations as well as private investigations throughout the years and hoping to get into some places where no investigators have gone before. Early morning at Rice-Tremonti House overnight Mel found the spirits wanting to play with the cat balls and get her attention! Getting things set up they trigger a cat ball behind her she doesn't even notice at first. Listen to the direct responses that were captured using one of our favorite apps, Necrophonic, being played through a blue tooth device. We use an audio recorder along with our video evidence to be sure we catch all the spirit responses. We have found sometimes what is on the audio recording is not picked up in the videos. This also helps us use Audacity to listen back on the recordings at different speeds to help us pickup more of the responses. Transcript of the interaction is also completed to document our research.

Paranormal investigations often take place at historical locations. Our team has always been supportive of these locations and know the importance of preserving history. Right now, in Independence, MO some of these historic locations are in jeopardy! This post is in support of the Bingham-Waggoner Historical Society and Vaile Victorian Society. We are asking the paranormal community to spread the word and show your support. I am sharing their message:
We are reaching out with an urgent and deeply concerning update regarding the future of our local history. A newly proposed Historic Sites Master Plan has just been released, and its recommendation is unthinkable: The City of Independence is considering selling both the Bingham-Waggoner Estate and the Vaile Mansion.
These landmarks are not just buildings; they are the heart of our community's heritage. We cannot allow them to be lost to private development or permanent closure.
We need you to show up and help us fill the room.
We are joining forces with our friends at the Vaile Victorian Society to send a clear message: Our historic estates are not for sale.

Alea and Naiveah from our team of investigators were joined by Xylan, who was giving a first try at paranormal investigating. We have learned that sometimes spirits will use the word Demon to get us out of an area. It worked on Xylan! Then the spirit takes it up a notch to get Naiveah out of the room. Alea was able to continue attempts at communication, knowing that there has not been anything negative in this location and trusting what she senses that this is not really something negative.

More to come once we do a more detailed review, but had to share this clip from a short session we did today outside the Rice-Tremonti Home. Our goal was to see if we could reconnect with some of the previous spirits we had encountered. We ended up with this surprise when our investigator Bailey got the attention of a spirit identified as Tate. In between you will also hear a response in Italian - rapido (unidentified word) capizza- meaning quickly-? - do you understand. We also had some crazy recording issues and battery rapid draining so this was improvising to record with our usual microphone on a handheld camera to be sure we had good audio.

This was from our prior overnight at Rice-Tremonti home, in Raytown, MO. Important to take advantage of the time when you do an overnight investigation. It doesn't have to be night or in the dark to talk to spirits. I went room to room and did short sessions early in the morning (ignore we forgot to set time stamp). Definitely still an active time.

Want to thank everyone who has found our FB page of interest. We have now reached over 1K followers!! We do this for our own enjoyment, and because we want to share what we have learned in our paranormal research and continue to learn from others with similar interests. In this video, I was trying for the first time to use Bluetooth while on our favorite Necrophonic app. Trying to see if I could understand in real time more of the conversation. It did work, but there was more static, and I'm not sure if those were some responses I was missing. So more experimenting with this to come. This is a longer video, but worth watching. I get confirmation I'm speaking and laughing with Dr. Tremonti at the Rice-Tremonti home!

Is it dust or an orb? Do orbs represent spirits? Paranormal research can sometimes involve experimenting. This time, Melanie is stirring up some dust so you can see what it looks like on camera. Orbs and dust can look similar. Dust tends to follow a path with the airflow. It sometimes has an oval shape or softer edge. It doesn't usually change direction unless the airflow changes, like when I open the door here. Orbs we have seen are of various sizes, sometimes flashing, changing direction, and even come in different colors. We identify orbs as anomalies. It fits the definition: something different, abnormal, peculiar, or not easily classified. Are orbs spirits? What do you think? Possibly? We have more research to do to see if we can answer that question.

On the property at the Rice-Tremonti home lived the enslaved servant, Sophia White. On the original site of her cabin stands a current rebuilt cabin made from antique logs. Following emancipation, Sophia remained with the Rice family as a paid employee, continuing her domestic duties and earning extra income from personal projects. During her last year, Sophia was cared for by the Rice's in the main house. In this investigation with Bailey and Tom in the cabin, you can hear Sophie acknowledge she is there. More incredible evidence from our investigation in Sept. 2025 at the Rice-Tremonti Home. Two from our team, Alea and Bailey, investigated outside the home on the surrounding property. Great responses, but the most compelling evidence is when a man named Benjamin speaks up, and we also hear from the people who killed him! Another first for us in an investigation! Give this a try- watch the video, then put on some earbuds or headphones and listen to the audio recording. Then read over the transcript. You may even pick up some additional words we missed. These spirits were responding to questions but also talking and arguing amongst themselves. Some want us to leave, some are asking for help, and one who doesn't know they are dead and needs other spirits to explain it. The basement at the Rice-Tremonti home is always a busy place for spirits!
