It’s Victory Monday here in Kansas City, so of course I have to represent.

As a life-long Chiefs fan, I can remember the days before the dynasty. The disappointment of losing seasons.

But what I love most about the Chiefs right now is how they play as a team. Sometimes the offense is 🔥, and Mahomes is showing alllll the arm angles 😂. And sometimes, the offense gets by while the defense and special teams step up. That’s what great teams do, not just in sports, but in life.

I woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. The baby didn’t sleep well, so I didn’t sleep well. She wouldn’t pick up her toys before I took her to daycare, and that triggered me.

In that moment, I had a choice. Continue being frustrated and “tired” the rest of the day, or choose to release the frustration (after all, it’s just a few toys…there are much bigger things to worry about in this world).

So I chose to make the most of the day. I hope you do, too 😉

On Friday, we wrapped up our final session of Olsson’s Leadership Forum.

Meeting people in person that I’ve collaborated with virtually for months (or in some cases, years) was so much fun.

Relationships really are crucial for long-lasting, meaningful careers.

I need your opinion…I took my son to the park today to shoot some hoops. The park is oriented toward kids. There is a playground and splash pad near the courts, a community garden, and a shelter area for celebrations and picnics.

The court has a sport court surface that was just added last October as a tribute to a man named Will Smith (not that Will Smith), for his focus on youth mentorship.

So here’s my question…there were two adults who were smoking on the court, flicking their ashes on this newly finished, nice community court. I didn’t say anything in the moment, but it bothered me.

What do you think? What would you have done?

I was a senior in high school. I was listening to the news on the radio as I was driving so I would have a topic to discuss in Civics class. The reporters announced the first plane hit the twin towers.

Shortly after I arrived at school, everyone was gathered in the cafeteria watching the news on TV.

25 years later, I vividly remember how I felt that day. My heart breaking for all the families who experienced loss that day. May we always remember the brave heroes, and the innocent lives lost.

May it also be a reminder to live life to the fullest, because we never know what tomorrow may bring. 🩵
