There's a new creative on the Encompas team! 🎨

Meet Alexa Murray, our new Graphic Designer! Alexa recently graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in Visual Communication Design and a minor in Marketing. After spending the summer as a graphic design intern at Starlight Theatre, she brings her creativity and love of visual storytelling to Encompas.

A little more about Alexa:
🎨 She has her own Etsy sticker shop and sells her artwork at pop-up art events.
🐱 Her two cats, Vernon and Pixie, are the lights of her life.
☕ Coffee is a non-negotiable, in any form.
📖 Her perfect day? Chilly, stormy weather and a good book by the window.
💗 She's a big fan of Miffy, printmaking, and bullet journaling.

Another new face on our Wichita team! 👋

We're happy to welcome Jonathan Beckman as a Project Manager at Encompas. Jonathan earned his degree in Interior Design from Oklahoma State University and brings experience in residential design, commercial interiors, and running his own renovation business. He's passionate about furniture and the difference it can make in people's everyday lives.

A few fun facts about Jonathan:
📸 Photography is one of his biggest passions.
🛠️ He has a knack for building and fixing things, often without instructions.
🎾 He enjoys staying active with tennis, volleyball, and time at the gym.
🎬 He's a fan of Marvel movies, Lord of the Rings, anime, and video games.
🎄 Christmas is his favorite time of year, especially the cold weather and time spent with family.

Help us welcome Hailee Koltis to the Encompas team! 👋

Hailee joins us as a Project Manager, bringing seven years of corporate real estate experience and a background in interior design and commercial furniture. After several years on the corporate side of workplace projects, she's excited to get back to the creative, hands-on side of the industry she loves.

Get to know Hailee a little better:
⛳ She was captain of her high school golf team.
🏡 She's a proud mom of five and loves thrifting and antiquing, especially when traveling.
📚 Historical fiction, The Lazy Genius podcast, and reality TV are a few of her favorites.
🎄 December is her favorite month. She loves everything from cookie swaps and holiday decorating to wrapping presents.
⏰ She's a planner who's always on time. If she's late, something has definitely gone sideways!

We're furniture geeks. So yes, we could share fun facts about chairs for …a while.

Haworth has spent decades studying how we sit, how our bodies move, and what actually makes a chair comfortable. The Fern chair alone took years of research and refinement, with a back designed to move with your spine as you shift throughout the day.

…And that's only one example. From Zody and Soji to Very and Breck, there's a lot of research and intention behind something most of us probably don't think much about until our chair isn't working for us.

Julie joined Alexandra Tseffos on The Design POP podcast to talk about nearly 30 years in the design industry, becoming a co-owner of Encompas, adding Mayor of Lenexa to her résumé, and what those experiences have taught her about working with people.

Last week, we brought our Full Circle event to Omaha for the first time to talk about what we can do differently.

Heidi Frasure, Head of Sustainability at Green Standards, and Grace Manuel, Lead Sustainability Specialist at Haworth, joined us for a conversation about circularity, responsible reuse, environmentally responsible materials, and the impact we can make when we start thinking about these things early in the design process.
