We’re honored to share that encompas has been named one of Kansas City’s Top 10 Small Businesses and received the Legacy of Kansas City Award at the 2026 Small Business Celebration.

Thank you to the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce for creating a process that celebrates the people, partnerships, and stories behind local businesses. Over the past several months, this experience has given us the opportunity to reflect on how we work, how we lead, and how we continue to grow alongside our clients and community.

Receiving the Legacy Award holds special meaning for our team. For 20 years now, encompas has been rooted in collaboration, effective project management, and long-term relationships across Kansas City’s design and construction community — and beyond.

Help us welcome Kate Frevert to the encompas Kansas City team! 👋

Kate brings over 20 years of experience in the commercial interior design industry and has built strong relationships across the Kansas City architecture and design community over the years. She’s a familiar face to many—someone who knows how to connect people, ideas, and projects to keep things moving.

She’s known for her people-first approach and the way she shows up as a steady, collaborative partner throughout the process. That kind of approach goes a long way here.

Kate lives in Lee’s Summit with her husband, Kevin, and their two dogs. Outside of work, she enjoys Pilates, being outdoors, and hosting friends and family at home.

In her role as Architecture & Design Manager, she’ll be focused on continuing to build relationships across the Kansas City market and staying closely connected to the A&D community.

A few things that make Kate, Kate:

• She loves being outside whenever she can
• Hosting is her favorite way to bring people together

Education Project Highlight 💙

Recently, we joined Emporia State University for an Open House at its Nursing + Student Wellness Center—a 32,000 sq. ft. new build that supports student learning across a range of care settings.

Our awesome Wichita team furnished the entire building, including classrooms, offices, common areas, and simulation labs for ER, LDRP, and pediatric spaces.

Earth Day in KC 💙🌱

As part of our 20 for 20 initiative, we joined the Crossroads Community Improvement District for the Crossroads Street Tree Initiative to help put in native landscaping along 18th Street’s bump-outs.

We appreciate all the community partners and volunteers putting in the work to invest in Kansas City’s downtown, and we’re glad to lend a hand to make it happen.

Meet Jordan Cutsinger, also new to our Kansas City Project Management team! 👏

Jordan brings a versatile design background shaped by years of hands‑on experience across product design, graphic design, and project management. He’s someone who naturally steps into whatever role the work needs and is a true “ownership is the standard” kind of guy.

A furniture geek through and through, Jordan's passion for furniture and the environments it shapes has been a thread throughout his education and career journey. From designing and building pieces for his Master's program at K-State to contributing to industrial design concepts as an intern, Jordan has always been drawn to the intersection of craft, function, and the communities great design supports.

A few things that make Jordan who he is:
• He describes himself as compassionate, encouraging, and a friend first
• He loves to country swing dance with his wife -his favorite shared pastime
• Forrest Frank and F1 racing are his go‑to entertainment
• Fishing, pickleball, and dancing keep him energized outside of work
• And when he’s in the zone, he’s sketching! ...the kind of deep‑focus work where hours disappear

Jordan values the people around him above all else, and that shows up in the way he collaborates, supports his coworkers, and approaches every challenge with heart.

To celebrate Women's History Month, we packed over 100 kits of period products with in Omaha, and another 300 kits with and in Kansas City to support those in need. At the end of this month, we'll also be volunteering at 's Harbor House - a shelter for women and children who have experienced domestic abuse.

As part of our 20for20 initiative for our 20th anniversary this year, we're especially grateful for the chance to give back and spend a little extra time helping other women. 💜
