Rashida Jones, the first Black executive to lead a major U.S. cable news network, will step down as MSNBC president, transitioning to an advisory role until March.

During her four-year tenure, Jones secured long-term deals with top anchors, expanded digital offerings, and navigated record-breaking news cycles.

Her departure comes from major shifts for MSNBC, including covering Trump’s new administration and joining Comcast’s SpinCo initiative.
