Eight teams sauntered their way into the 180 Club this weekend.

Earning a 180 means putting an entry on a table of trained KCBS Certified Barbeque Judges and delivering across all three attributes. That’s a box worth remembering.

Congratulations to 1 Bite BBQ, At Ease, Go Pig or Go Home, Kick Ash BBQ, Owens BBQ, Smokin E’s BBQ, Tankerbelle BBQ and Wapatui Smokers.

Kick Ash BBQ honored their namesake this weekend. Twice!

They posted a huge 357.7144, then came right back with a 354.2744, earning Grand Champion honors both days.

Six other strong scores joined them in the 350 Club. Backyard teams brought the heat. KCBS Certified Barbeque Judges recognized excellence. Welcome to the 350 Club.

Five teams. Three Grand Champions. One strong weekend in the 700 Club.

Cocamoke Smoke BBQ, traveling all the way from Florida to Montanna, where the trip paid off, led the way with a 706.8460, followed by SmellaQue, Wood Hook BBQ, BBQ Hot Yard and Mountain Smoke BBQ.

Congratulations to Joe Osbrink. The Kansas City Barbeque Society is pleased to announce that Joe has been elected to the KCBS Board of Directors.

Following a tie in the 2026 Board of Directors Special Election, the KCBS Board of Directors convened a Special Meeting on August 26 to resolve the result in accordance with the Society's bylaws. Osbrink was elected to the open seat.

Thank you to everyone who participated in this year's election, and to fellow candidates Joe De Bella and Andrew Peercy for their willingness to serve the KCBS community.
